The Prophet ﷺ said,
》"Whoever can guarantee for me (that he will guard) what is between his jaws *(tongue)* and what is between his legs (private parts), I will guarantee for him Jannah" (Tirmidhi, Sahih)

》"When the son of Adam wakes up, all of his body parts bow to the tongue and say: 'Fear Allah regarding us, we are only part of you. If you are straight we are straight and if you are crooked we are crooked'." (At Tirmidhi, Hasan)

》"Most of the. Sins of the children of Adam are on their tongues" (Tabarani, Sahih).

》 "What causes people to be thrown into the hellfire on their faces, is the harvest of their tongues" (Ibn Majah, Hasan)

These and several other ahadeeth emphasize the importance of guarding one's tongue. There are other ahadeeth highlight its potential good as well.

A DAY AS PER THE SUNNAH

وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُون
"And I (Allâh) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me". (51:56)

The purpose of our creation is to Worship Allah – this is clear, but if we ponder about the obligatory deeds that we need to do, it is just the five obligatory prayers that are to be done daily, apart from that we have no other strict obligations in our daily lives – so how is it that, if we were created to worship our Lord, we can simply get away with the Salah? Every fardh prayer or even the Sunnah prayers combined does not usally exceed more than a couple of hours of our day. So how do we fulfil?

The answer is by implementing Sunnahs in our daily lives for the Sake of Allah and so everything becomes a good deed.

And the reward of that is amazing... Allah says in Hadith Qudsi: "And My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing voluntary deeds until I love him, so I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sense of sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he grips, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him, and if he asks My Protection, I will protect him.” (Bukhari)
