📘 درس اليوم: زمن الماضي المستمر – Past Continuous

🔹 متى نستخدمه ؟

1️⃣ حدث مستمر في وقت محدد في الماضي
  - They were having dinner when the power went out. 
كانوا يتناولون العشاء عندما انقطع التيار الكهربائي.
2️⃣ حدث طويل قاطعه حدث قصير (عندما + فعل ماضي بسيط)
  - We were watching a movie when you called. 
كنا نشاهد فيلمًا عندما اتصلت.
3️⃣ حدثين طويلين يحدثان في نفس الوقت (بينما)
- While Sarah was studying, her brother was playing video games. 
بينما كانت سارة تدرس، كان أخوها يلعب ألعاب الفيديو.

🔹 القاعدة الأساسية:

(was / were) + الفعل + ing
Ex:
🟦 I was studying at 10 PM yesterday.
كنت أدرس في الساعة العاشرة مساءً أمس.
🟦 She was sleeping when I arrived. كانت نائمة عندما وصلت

🟦 They were playing football while we were watching.
كانوا يلعبون كرة القدم بينما كنا نشاهد.

❗ قاعدة النفي (Negative Form):

(was / were) + not + الفعل + ing
✨ Ex:
- I was not (wasn't) working yesterday. لم أكن أعمل أمس
- He was not (wasn't) listening to me. لم يكن يصغي إليّ
- We were not (weren't) traveling last summer.
لم نكن نسافر الصيف الماضي.

❓ قاعدة السؤال (Question Form):

(Was / Were) + الفاعل + الفعل + ing ?

- Were you studying when I called?
هل كنت تدرس عندما اتصلت؟
- Was she cooking dinner at 6 o'clock?
هل كانت تطبخ العشاء في الساعة السادسة؟

ماذا كانوا يفعلون؟

عادةً ما يأتي مع الماضي المستمر كلمات دلالة مثل:
