April fool’s day dates back to 1582, when Pope Gregory XIII, introduced the Gregorian calendar.The new calendar would start on January 1st.

In ancient times, calendars were based on the vernal equinox, so the new year was celebrated on or around April 1.

However, after Pope Gregory shifted the new year to January 1st, it is believed that many people refused to accept the drastic change and continued to follow the old calendar. That's the reason why people, started mocking them.

Those ancient ‘fools’ were not so foolish; it would make more sense for the calendar to be aligned with nature. Spring is the beginning of life and should mark the beginning of the year.

Chatting to my friend Steve Ozanich, author of the book ‘The Great Pain Deception’ (which I strongly recommend if you suffer from chronic pain), we got on to the subject of ‘time’ and the human brain’s inability to fully grasp its true nature. We’ve all heard before the concept that everything happens in the ‘now’, but then what is what we call yesterday?

If time is not linear, how come we age? Is time simply a measure of change?

Einstein once wrote, “People like us, who believe in physics, know that the distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion”

Scientists and philosophers agree that time requires change. Time, therefore, may simply be an innate abstract way for humans to understand and mark change. If there is no change there is no time.

Perhaps our current sense that time has gained speed, is due to the fact that both the world and humanity are undergoing an unprecedented amount of change.

Regardless of it’s physical or philosophical properties, one thing is for sure, it’s our most valued ‘possesion’ except we don’t actually own it! What an oxymoron… 🤦🏻‍♀️

It certainly places living in the ‘now’ not so much as a choice of lifestyle, but rather an inevitability.

Therefore my friends, whatever happens, whatever comes our way, let’s try and make our ‘now’ as good as it can be, after all that’s all we’ve got!
