Those of us on this journey are here because we care. We care about what’s going on, we care to find the truth, we care to gain the knowledge that will lead to the right choices, we care for justice, we care for future generations and we care for freedom. Caring is the first step.
But courage is also required. Courage to breakdown your ego and admit you were wrong and you were fooled. Courage to unlearn what you thought was true and start all over again. Courage to accept you had based your life on falsehoods, vanities and moral relativism. Courage to want to change, improve and take action. Courage to speak your mind despite social condemnation. And courage to be your new you even when those around you don’t want to accept it.
This journey takes caring, it takes knowledge and it takes courage. It needs of the heart, it needs of the mind and it needs you to have the guts to do something about it.

Yesterday somebody asked me ‘How are you?’ and I honestly did not know how to respond.
I thought to myself, ‘I’m not feeling bad, so I guess I’m good’, so rather unconvincingly I responded: ‘I’m good’. As the words came out of my mind I started pondering on my true feelings…
The truth is, I think I’m feeling a little numb, which sounds terrible and very unlike me, but I think I’m on ‘standby’, as some sort of survival mechanism.
For the last three years we have been swamped with feelings of fear, uncertainty, anticipation, dread, anger, anguish, disgust, retaliation, frustration, sadness, disbelief, doubt, conviction, excitement and hope. Day after day a tsunami of emotions would overcome us and I, for one, am emotionally exhausted, as I’m sure many of you are too.
We all need our ‘standby’ moments to be able to rebalance and regroup, so let’s remember to ‘catch our breath’ from time to time. This journey requires of all our physical, mental and spiritual strength.
The good news is that we’re slowly toughening up, not in a bad way, but simply in a more resilient way, in a way that will allow us to cope with what’s coming. I have a feeling it’s going to get bumpier!
For today, if somebody should ask me how I’m feeling, the answer is ‘I’m on standby’. 😉
