❗Russia and China Agree Gas Supply On Far East Route

Russia and China have signed an agreement on gas supplies via the Far East route, the press service of the Russian Energy Ministry reports.

The agreement, which still needs to be ratified, regulates the construction and operation of a gas pipeline across the Ussuri River near the cities of Dalnerechensk in Russia and Hulin in China.

Gazprom will become the only Russian company that will be able to supply gas through the pipeline. On the Chinese side, the pipeline will be used and maintained by the China National Pipeline Corporation (CNTC) - they will also be involved in construction.

In November 2022, Gazprom and KNTK signed a contract for additional gas supplies via the Far East route, which will see Russia pump another 10 billion cubic meters of gas to China.
