Der Basler Pharmakonzern Roche hatte riesige Erwartungen an seine Diätpille Xenical, doch das Geschäft ging buchstäblich in die Hose. Zwar erwirtschaftete das Unternehmen bereits 1999, als das Medikament erstmals in den USA verschrieben werden durfte, einen Umsatz von 600 Millionen Dollar. Aber zu einem richtigen Verkaufsrenner mit jährlichen Verkäufen in Milliardenhöhe wollte es nie werden.

Bereits einen Tag vor dem bundesweiten Warnstreik ist es bei der Lufthansa zu Verspätungen und Ausfällen gekommen. Grund dafür war nach Unternehmensangaben eine technische Störung. Fluggäste wurden auf andere Verbindungen oder die Bahn umgebucht.
