MCV = Mean Corpuscular Volume
🔺 يعني يعبر عن حجم كريات الدم الحمراء (هل هي صغيرة أم كبيرة؟).

RDW = Red Cell Distribution Width
🔺 يعني يعبر عن مدى الاختلاف والتفاوت بأحجام الكريات الحمراء (يعني الخلايا كلها نفس الحجم لو صايرة أحجام مشكلة؟).

📉 الفرق بفقر الدم الناتج عن نقص الحديد (IDA):
التغيير بالحجم يبدي بالتدريج وبشكل عشوائي في النخاع، فتطلع عينات دم أحجامها مختلفة ومخربطة (وحدة كبيرة ووحدة صغيرة)، لذلك نشوف الـ RDW صاعد (مرتفع).

🧬 أما في حالة الثلاسيميا (Thalassemia Trait):
هذا خلل جيني وراثي ثابت، يعني النخاع من الأساس وبشكل منتظم يصنع خلايا كلها صغيرة وبنفس الحجم تقريباً (متجانسة)، لذلك نشوف الـ RDW طبيعي (Normal).
