To thank the hardworking Lyra team and to celebrate the release of mid-term milestone ver 2.2, the board of Lyra decided to reward 5M LYR to each team member.

Our new kernel team, established no earlier than Jan 2021, has already made remarkable achievements, including but not limited to: a whole new CI for Lyra Inc., a new series of the web site, a new wallet App stunning and feature-rich, a new API that allows cross-platform development, a new Metamask like browser extension, a new finance operation strategy. Many of the works have not been published yet. We have tons of new ideas and bold actions every day.

Thank you, buddies!
Lyra Is SAFU

Following the example of all serious crypto projects Lyra founded Insurance Fund - Secure Asset Fund for Users in the amount of 1.000.000.000 Lyra.

We will allocate 10% of total circulation into SAFU to offer protection to our users, hodlers and their funds in extreme cases, like system bugs, hacking attacked etc… This fund will be stored in a separate cold wallet and can be accessed only in cases of extreme emergency.

These actions take root because we value our users’ security first and foremost. We want our community to feel safe.

With that being said, from a security standpoint, our goal every day is to never use SAFU, and we hope to achieve this by doing our part in providing the most secure crypto platforms possible for all of our Lyrians.

Those that use Windows 64 version of the PC Wallet can have an issue that the wallet is always offline, those that have this issue, please use the 32 bit version, the 32 bit version is not affected by this bug. 🍻

Dear folks of the Lyra community!

I have two pieces of news for today, one bad, one good.

The bad news is, the Diego team is no longer work for the Lyra project. I'm afraid 100 million Lyra token will never be returning to the team's vaults.

The good news is, by the last upgrading, Diego's account is currently lockdown temporarily upon an agreement made by a group of major Lyra holders, who are also major Lyra node owners. So the risk is minimal.

Thank you.
Lyra Dev Update (July 16, 2021)

Hello Lyra folks! We are glad to announce that we are planning to migrate the consensus algorithm used by Lyra blockchain to SBFT in the coming months.

Lyra consensus network uses the algorithm of PBFT. Since the launch of mainnet from Sep. 2020, we never have a single fatal failure such as data loss, chain reset/rollback, hard fork, etc. We are so proud of it.

There is only one issue of PBFT: lacks of scalability. With the fast-growing of the Lyra community, we need a better algorithm that must scale up very well. Now we have found it: SBFT.

SBFT, or Scalable BFT, is a PBFT like consensus algorithm which is developing by VMWare. By migrating to SBFT, Lyra will have the ability to support 2k+ online nodes, dramatically increasing the decentralization. And more than that, SBFT has been proved to support 10k+ operations per second. Lyra block lattice over SBFT will hopefully have 2k+ TPS. What a vast improvement!

The whole migrating process will need 3~6 months. If succeed, Lyra will has a chance to become the best crypto payment network. Remember, any blockchain that has 1+ seconds confirmation time should not be treated as a payment system.

We will keep the community updated. Stay tuned!

For more information about SBFT, please visit https://arxiv.org/pdf/1804.01626.pdf
Lyra is now dockerized!

We are happy to announce the Lyra node is now fully support the Docker container. In addition, all team-owned nodes have been migrated to Docker, both mainnet and testnet. It runs pretty well.

With the support of Docker containers, setup and maintain a Lyra node has never been so easy. Therefore, I recommend that all nodes migrate to it.

With the new upgrade with SBFT, we are expecting the number of nodes to grow to thousands. Dockerization will help us speed up the process. It is so exciting!

A guide document is updated. (https://github.com/LYRA-Block-Lattice/Lyra-Core/tree/master/Docker#migrate-leagcy-lyra-node-to-docker)
