Barcelona welcomed us with two of its most iconic spots: La Sagrada Famรญlia, with its breathtaking architecture and endless little details to admire, and Park Gรผell, where colorful mosaics, winding paths, and the view of the city made everything feel almost unreal. Two completely different places, but somehow both felt like the perfect introduction to the city.

                    . . .      ๐šˆ     . . .

Our first morning started pretty slowly. Before heading anywhere, I spent some time reading, took a little walk around, and sat down with Mozaa to figure out where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do for the day. Eventually, we decided that La Sagrada Famรญlia would be our first stop. We wandered around, took plenty of pictures, made a BeReal together, and even happened to run into Danu along the way.

After making our way back, I took a little time to touch up before heading out again. Somewhere between destinations, we also stopped to get some flowers before continuing our little Barcelona adventure to Park Gรผell. It was a long day filled with walking, random little moments, and way too many picturesโ€”but honestly, I wouldn't have wanted our first day any other way. #TaxTakesSpain

La Barceloneta felt like a little blue daydream tucked along the edge of Barcelona. The sea stretched endlessly beneath the soft sky, waves wandered gently toward the shore, and the breeze carried that warm, almost magical feeling of being somewhere far away from everything familiar. It was the kind of place that made time feel softer, as if the afternoon had nowhere else to be.

I wandered there on my own this time, with nothing but the sea ahead of me and nowhere in particular I needed to be. I let my feet decide where to go, stopping whenever something caught my eye and letting the afternoon unfold in its own little rhythm. There was something strangely lovely about having the whole day to myselfโ€”just me, the sound of the waves, the sun above, and a quiet little moment that felt like it belonged only to me. Maybe that's the charm of getting lost somewhere new: sometimes, you find a softer version of yourself along the way. #TaxTakesSpain

There was something almost
storybook-like about wandering
through the Gothic Quarter, where
every narrow alley seemed to lead
to another little corner waiting to
be discovered.

From its old stone walls and hidden streets, I slowly made my way toward Passeig de Grร cia, trading the quiet charm of the old quarter for grand buildings, elegant storefronts, and the lively rhythm of Barcelona.

No real destination in mind, just letting the streets carry me wherever they wanted.

Somewhere in the middle of all that wandering, Olaf called. And apparently, it was finally our turn to have our little moment on the phone. One by one, Ali, Serenoi, Britany, Jose, Shaher, and Francis joined in, each taking their turn to call and catch up for a while.

It was such a small thing in the middle of a day spent exploring a city so far away, but somehow hearing familiar voices made everything feel a little closer to home. Maybe that's the sweetest part of travelingโ€”the little moments that remind you that even when you're wandering somewhere new, there are still people waiting to hear about it. ๐Ÿค

SPAIN AFTER HOURS // After a full day of sightseeing, Zion decided we deserved a night out, and Rudolph and Francis were more than happy to agree. Brigitta and Britany got ready, Serenoi, Fairuz, and Blaire came along for drinks, and Siennamore, Daniela, Serena, and Devora completed the little midnight crew. We said we'd only stay out for a while. We obviously did not. One drink became another, a quick walk became a whole detour, and suddenly it was one of those nights none of us wanted to end first day of #TaxTakesSpain.
