I know there is some fear surrounding holding trades overnight due to paying over night fees which is referred to as swap.
Some brokers will charge you to hold your positions overnight and some won’t. The fee isn’t as high as some may think but let’s put some context on it. Ready? 😁
📚 Think of swap as an overnight parking garage. You pay a fee to let the garage store it for you since you’re not coming and going so quickly.
💵 Yes there is a fee but you’re hoping it can provide convience for you not looking for a parking space and providing safety for your vehicle.
As a swing trader who holds positions over night and through the weekend I’m paying the broker to provide me with the security my money will still be in my account when I return and to execute any orders I may have without me being there. ✌🏾
