1-the Iliofemoral ligament:

it is the strongest ligament in the body
Y - Shaped
Functions : prevents hyperextension

2-Pubofemoral ligament

altachments:behind and below lower limb of Iliofemoral ligament
Functions: -prevents over abduction
-assist in prevents hyperextension

3-Ischiofemoral ligament

altachments:margin of the acetabulum
Functions: preventing hyperextension of the hip

4-Labrum acetabulare :

atis a ring of fibrocartilage

fixed to rim of the acetabulum to deepen its Cavity

5-Transverse acetabular ligament: bridging over the acetabular notch

6-Ligament of head of femur ( round liq.or ligamentum teres): altached to the pit or fovea of the head of femur

7-Medial Meniscus: -Concave
-it is more Fixed
-it is more liable to injury

8-Lateral Meniscus: -being more mobile
less liable to injury

1--Medial ( Tibial ) Collateral lig:
altachments:- above to med - epicondyle of femoral
-Below to med condyle of Libia

2-Lateral ( fibular ) Collateral:

Allachments :-above to lat - epicondyle

-below attached to head of fibula

3-Ant - Cruciate ligament:

altachment to tibia :to the ant intercondylar area behind

attachment to the Femur: lat - Condyle of femur


Function ١-limits hyper extension
٢-prevent post - displacement
٣-prevents ant. pulling of tibia

4--Post Cruciate ligament:

altachment to tibia to the post. intercondylar area

Allachment to femur : med - Condyle of femur

Function prevents ant dislocation of femur

1-The medial lig of ankle ( Deltoid lig ) :strongest ligaments in ankle
