KuCoin WebSocket Pro API Rate Limit Rules
To ensure system stability, KuCoin has introduced corresponding rate-limit rules for WebSocket connections and message sending in the PRO API.
1. Maximum Concurrent Connections
Each IP can establish up to 512 connections.
Public and Private connections are counted separately.
The maximum total connections per IP is 1024.
2. WebSocket Connection Creation Rate
Each IP can initiate up to 150 new connections every 5 minutes.
If this limit is exceeded within a short period, the server may reject new connection requests.
It is recommended to reuse existing WebSocket connections and avoid frequently disconnecting and reconnecting.
3. Client Message Sending Rate
Each WebSocket connection is limited to 100 messages per 10 seconds sent to the server.
The following messages count toward this limit:
subscribe
unsubscribe
ping
Exception:
Order cancellation messages sent via WebSocket are not included in this rate limit.
If the limit is exceeded, the server may disconnect the WebSocket connection.
4. Maximum Topics per Connection
Each WebSocket connection can subscribe to up to 200 topics.
If more topics are required, please distribute them across multiple WebSocket connections.
5. Usage Recommendations
To achieve a more stable WebSocket experience, it is recommended to:
Reuse existing WebSocket connections whenever possible
Control the client message sending rate (no more than 100 messages / 10 seconds)
Split topics across multiple connections when subscribing to a large number of topics
