The Agriculture Ministry has rolled out the Ayushman Sahakar Scheme to assist cooperatives in the creation of healthcare infrastructure in the country.

□ ABOUT :-

◇ The scheme is formulated by the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), the apex autonomous development finance institution under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

◇ The scheme would give a boost to the provision of healthcare services by cooperatives.

◇ It specifically covers establishment, modernization, expansion, repairs, renovation of hospital and healthcare and education infrastructure.

□ NEED OF SUCH SCHEME.

◇ Huge need for medical and nursing education in rural areas. But the problem is a lack of infrastructure.

◇ Co-ops find it difficult to access credit for such projects as banks may not give them loans.

□ FUNDING :-

◇ NCDC would extend term loans to prospective cooperatives to the tune of Rs 10000 Crore in the coming year.

The Department of Posts has launched a scheme called Five Star Villages, to ensure universal coverage of flagship postal schemes in rural areas of the country.

✏️ The scheme seeks to bridge the gaps in public awareness and reach of postal products and services, especially in interior villages.

The scheme includes:

✏️ Savings Bank accounts, Recurrent Deposit Accounts, NSC / KVP certificates,

✏️ Sukanya Samridhi Accounts/ PPF Accounts,

✏️ Funded Post Office Savings Account linked India Post Payments Bank Accounts,

✏️ Postal Life Insurance Policy/Rural Postal Life Insurance Policy and

✏️ Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana Account / Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana Account.

ITS IMPLEMENTATION :

✏️ The scheme will be implemented by a team of five Gramin Dak Sevaks who will be assigned a village for the marketing of all products, savings and insurance schemes of the Department of Posts.

The Union Ministry for Agriculture has launched Sahakar Mitra: Scheme on Internship Programme (SIP).

□ ABOUT :-

◇ An initiative by the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), the cooperative sector development finance organization.

◇ Aims to help cooperative institutions access innovative ideas of young professionals while the interns will gain experience of working in the field to be self-reliant.

◇ Scheme is expected to assist cooperative institutions to access new and innovative ideas of young professionals.

◇ Professional graduates in disciplines such as Agriculture and allied areas, IT etc. will be eligible for an internship.

◇ Professionals who pursuing or have completed their MBA degrees in Agri-business, Cooperation, Finance, International Trade, Forestry, Rural Development, Project Management etc. will also be eligible.

◇ Each intern will get financial support over a 4 months internship period.

🧩The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22 January 2015 in Panipat, Haryana as a part of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign.

🧩Account can be opened in the name of a girl child till she attains the age of 10 years.

🧩Only one account can be opened in the name of a girl child.

🧩Account can be opened in Post office and branches of authorised banks.

🧩Birth certificate of girl child in whose name the account is opened must be submitted.

🧩Account can be opened with a minimum of Rs. 250/- and thereafter any amount in multiple of Rs.100/- can be deposited.
