Encouragement for students to write up summaries after each class
• Summarisation is an efficient way to review classes
• It is an effective way to test your understanding; a good summarisation indicates good understanding.
• It helps develop better reading, writing and analytical skills.
• It helps you discern the most important ideas and ignore irrelevant information.
• It helps consume information and integrate the most vital ideas in a more meaningful manner.
• It makes memorisation easy because you only focus on information that is worth remembering.
• It saves a lot of time when it comes to reviewing previous classes.
• Summarisation is a transferable skill that can be used in almost every field.
• The more one practices summarisation, the more proficient they become
• If a student is proficient at writing summaries and they share their notes with others, they:
- will receive a great deal of reward (Insha'Allah)
- assist their peers to review and understand classes
- give others access to the knowledge in a simple form, which will then encourage others to follow the classes
• Summarisation is a good means to preserve knowledge

Using the Deen as a marketing tool
One day, 'Abdullah Ibn Muhaireez Al-Jumahi (A great Taabi'ee, D. 99H) went to a cloth merchant to buy a garment, and though the merchant did not know him, there was another man present who knew him. Ibn Muhaireez asked the merchant: 'How much is this garment?' The merchant replied: 'It costs such and such.' The man who knew him said: 'Don't you know who this is? This is ibn Muhaireez, so be good to him (i.e. Give him a good price).' Upon hearing this, Ibn Muhaireez became very angry and said: 'I came to buy with my money, and I did not come to buy with my religion,' he then got up and left without buying anything.
[Hilyatul Awliyaa wa Tabaqaat Al-Asfiyaa']
----------------
Al-Awzaa'ee rahimahullah said of ibn Muhaireez:
"من كان مقتديا فليقتد بمثل ابن محيريز"
“Whoever wants to follow a good example, let him follow the example of Ibn Muhaireez.” [Tahdheeb At-Tahdheeb (2/ 429)]

Tawhīd is The Greatest Medicine
Imām Rajab (may Allāh have mercy) said:
فإن هذا التوحيد هو الإكسير الأعظم فلو وضع منه ذرة
على جبال الذنوب والخطايا لقلبها حسنات
For indeed, this Tawhīd is the greatest medicine; if even a tiny particle of it were placed on a mountain of sins and disobedience, it would turn them into good deeds.

Don't share religious knowledge to impress [others]. Share it to convey the message, to advise, to enjoin what is right, and to forbid what is wrong, so that Allāh may guide His servants by way of you. "Indeed, actions are judged by intentions."
