The 6 Qualities of Tabligh

Heaven lies beneath a mother's feet

When it's hard to walk and the weight of my womb swells my legs, I remind myself Jannah is beneath my feet.

When I hide in the bathroom just to shed all the tired tears I've been holding onto all day long in front of the kids, I have to remind myself that Jannah is right beneath my feet.

When the baby is up all night long and I wake up tired and sleepless even though I've been on bed for 10 hours, I close my eyes one last time to affirm myself that Jannah is indeed beneath my feet.

When people asked me what I did all day long and I wanted to answer "tried my best to pave my way towards Jannah", I reminded myself that Jannah is beneath my feet but they wouldn't understand.

When I read the hadith where Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "...Paradise is surrounded by all kinds of disliked undesirable things." [Sahih al-Bukhari 6487], I reminded myself that motherhood is not all sparkles and smiles, but those undesirable things put Jannah beneath my feet.

When I became a mother and realised why my own mother was so worried about me even when I was all grown up and independent, I reminded myself that she too has Jannah beneath her feet.

And when I look at all the mothers around me struggling day in and day out without any appreciation or help, I console myself that one fine day, with the Mercy of Allah, their hardships will be replaced with ease. In Jannah that was all along wrapped beneath their feet.

It was narrated from Mu'awiyah bin Jahimah As-Sulami, that Jahimah came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said:
"O Messenger of Allah! I want to go out and fight (in Jihad) and I have come to ask your advice."
He said: "Do you have a mother?"
He said: "Yes."
He said: "Then stay with her, for Paradise is beneath her feet."
[Sunan an-Nasa'i 3104]

My Prophet told the whole world through his hadith that Jannah was beneath the feet of a mother, yet I couldn't understand why everyone asked if I'm "just a mother"?
Yes I am! I'm just a mother! I'm happy to just be that 🌸
سبحان الله

The Whole-Brain Child Book

How to use this book:

Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, teacher, therapist, or other significant caregiver in a child’s life, we’ve written this book for you. We’ll use the word “parent” throughout, but we’re talking to anyone doing the crucial work of raising, supporting, and nurturing kids. Our goal is to teach you how to use your everyday interactions as opportunities to help you and the children you care for both survive and thrive. Though much of what you’ll read can be creatively tailored for teens—in fact, we plan to write a follow-up that does just that—this book focuses on the years from birth to twelve, centering especially on toddlers, school-age kids, and
preteens.
In the following pages we explain the whole-brain perspective and give you a variety of strategies to help your children be happier, healthier, and more fully themselves. The first chapter presents the concept of parenting with the brain in mind and
introduces the simple and powerful concept at the heart of the whole-brain approach, integration.

Chapter 2 focuses on helping a
child’s left brain and right brain work together so the child can be
connected to both his logical and emotional selves.

Chapter 3
emphasizes the importance of connecting the instinctual
“downstairs brain” with the more thoughtful “upstairs brain”,
which is responsible for decision making, personal insight,
empathy, and morality.

Chapter 4 explains how you can help your child deal with painful moments from the past by shining the light
of understanding on them, so they can be addressed in a gentle,
conscious, and intentional way.

Chapter 5 helps you teach your kids that they have the capacity to pause and reɻect on their own state of mind. When they can do that, they can make choices that give them control over how they feel and how they respond to their world.

Chapter 6 highlights ways you can teach your children about the happiness and fulɹllment that result from being connected to others, while still maintaining a unique identity.
