Pre-event price action:

Trend within trends on the smaller timeframes

Patterns that conflict each other - You may get a H&S but with that is a double bottom for example. They do this intentionally to get traders committed to the wrong direction

Ranging price staying close to short term MA's

Swings and spikes all of a sudden - This is a stop loss hunter activation taking liquidity from the high and low of a potential range

Ask yourself these questions:

Do I understand intra-day levels?
Do I understand pre-event price action?
Do I understand trading with ranges and price accumulation?
Do I have a risk model that protects me and my account no matter where the price goes?

That's where we are this session with the red box holding the range and the indicator giving the long trade upside. Resistance here is 2910 with support 2895 and the extension level 2885. We're not expecting to do much more on Gold as we have NFP around the corner and we've done well on it already, no point getting into positions pre-event now.

If you are going to trade, especially you guys who are new to trading, reduce your lots sizes. Expect ranging and choppy price action and use the levels we post. If it's no where near the level with no structure, it's not going to be a clean trade!
