Just wanted to drop in with a super important heads-up to help you keep your hard-earned cash safe. So, here's the deal: the Indian government has sent out a warning to nine offshore crypto exchanges. They're under the spotlight for not following the rules according to India's Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The last thing we want is for you guys to run into any trouble with your money.

To keep you in the loop, we've put up a list of these crypto exchanges over at our KSN MEXC exchange . Heads up, though – their website has hit a snag and isn't working anymore. If you've got their app, it's still up for now, but who knows how long that'll last.

The folks at India's Finance Ministry are the ones cracking down through their Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). They're also starting to block the web addresses of these exchanges because they're operating in India without following the PMLA rules.

This is pretty new territory for India – they haven't really done this with crypto companies before. So, there's no word yet on what happens if these exchanges just ignore the warning.

Earlier, the government hinted that something like this might happen when they mentioned that about 28 local crypto service providers had registered with the FIU. Now, that number's up to 31.

Back in March, India's Finance Ministry told crypto companies they needed to get on board with the FIU, basically to make sure they're not helping money laundering. This means these companies have to follow some strict rules now, like verifying who their customers are (yep, the old KYC drill).

So, that's the gist! Stay safe and keep an eye on where you're putting your money, folks. From today the website is also not working of that exchange only application is working which user already have. That application will close anytime. India's Finance Ministry oversees the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), which is responsible for issuing the notices.

Additionally, the government has started blocking the URLs of "said entities that are operating illegally without complying with the provisions of the PMLA in India."
Since there are no national precedents for this kind of action pertaining to cryptocurrencies, the government did not specify a deadline or the repercussions for disobeying the warning.

Following the government's announcement in writing earlier this month that up to 28 domestic cryptocurrency service providers had registered with the FIU, the action seemed certain. Already, that figure has increased to 31.

As a result, crypto companies were forced by law to carry out verification procedures like Know Your Customer (KYC).
