👆🏻 In Paper IV, the essay carries more weight than most individual subjects( Except Public Ad and Ethics). That makes it a game-changer. (Imagine getting 10 or 30+)
So following RPSC instructions to the letter isn't just advisable; it's essential.
Having secured one of the highest marks 132, (equivalent to rank 1, Shruti sharma of UPSC 2021 in paper 1 essay writing) and decent scores thereafter.. I'm writing this to help you out..

They are looking for-
Relevance means staying on the theme. Every point, every example should serve the central idea. Give each sub-topic its due, no more, no less.

Coherence is about structure. A crisp introduction, a body that builds logically(with multiple themes and relevant dimensions), and a conclusion that ties it together. Paragraphs should flow into one another(smooth transitions), arguments should progress with purpose followed by eg.

Precision is saying exactly what you mean. Choose words with care. No fluff, no ambiguity.. just clean, nuanced expression.

Brevity is saying more with less(using keywords) . Cut the clutter, but back your points with solid examples. Every word should earn its place.

Clarity means your reader never has to guess. Keep it simple and transparent. The evaluator should grasp your argument instantly, without effort. (Smooth flow)

In the end, excellence isn't about fancy words or ornate sentences. It's about sharp analysis, disciplined structure, and the quiet power of saying things plainly.

Okay so let's start with background. My graduation was completed in 2023 (sub-Pol sci, Eco, geo) medium english.
I started my serious preparation for this in Aug 2024. Maine completely pre pe focus kiya bcoz ye mera 1st exam tha (excluding CET 2023)
Before this maine kuch standard books acche se pdh rkhi thi so mujhe india ka portion pre k liye cover krne me km time lga.
I don't know if m isse strategy bolu ya kya but this is what worked for me . Maine sbse pehle Indian gk hi kiya & then rajasthan ka portion.

-Raj polity from Rahul Choudhary's book
-Indian history my notes prepared frm spectrum, satish Chandra , RS sharma & ncert
-Raj history from 10th rbse book & SBA booklet
-Indian culture - nitin singhania ( advisable to see other books as this is bulky)
-Raj culture - 10th rbse & springboard
-Indian eco- budget, vivek singh
-Raj eco - only eco survey
-World geo -SBA
-Indian geo - NCERT 9TH , 11th & went through SBA notes to check 4 some uncovered topics
-Raj geo- SBA
-Env - shankar ias & summary of that provided by kida on their channel
-Maths & reasoning - honestly my brother in the last few days
-Current - ceramic
Okay among other things i subscribed to one test series of SBA online in late December 2024.
My marks in these tests were always b/w 100-110 & I was worried so told kida about this & was assured
👉🏻 For a way to learning -- please take complete rest . Sleep is necessary.there is a thing to focus on revision, use limited resources & trust ur sources
