Opinion on Blum
A long time ago, I shared my thoughts about the Blum project, pinning high hopes on it. After all, one of Blumβs Co-Founders, Vladimir Smerkis, was a former employee of the worldβs top crypto exchange, Binance π°.
What did Blum promise its users?
β A hybrid crypto exchange allowing us to trade tokens from both centralized (CEX) and decentralized (DEX, no KYC required) exchanges directly in Telegram.
β A where users could claim points every 8 hours, which were supposed to contribute to a future token drop.
βFree NFT drops that would provide a 20% discount on exchange fees.
A token drop scheduled for Q4 2024.
Where are we today?
No exchange, but here comes MemPad. Instead of the promised exchange, we now have MemPad. Itβs heavily promoted, but unfortunately, itβs a platform where inexperienced crypto users risk losing funds due to scams. Yet, weβre told to focus on MemPadβtrade and earn βmore importantβ points for a future drop.
Point farming continues, but priorities have shifted. Despite claiming points every 8 hours for over six months, Vladimir Smerkis announced in a recent YouTube video that the original points are no longer a priority. Instead, points earned through creating and trading tokens on MemPad are now more valuable. Weekly Proof of Activity, which required sending 0.25 TON πͺ to earn 1,000 points, has been devalued. Why? Because now, one ticket in the Drop Game can yield 1,000β1,200 points. So, what was the point of spending TON on Proof of Activity?
Free NFTs? Nowhere to be found.
No token drop in Q4 2024. The token drop and listing are indefinitely delayed. However, Blum has announced βSeason 2,β which wasnβt even in the original roadmap. Users are encouraged to continue supporting the project, participating in activities, and waiting for the dropβwhenever that might be. Moderators even suggest that users shouldnβt expect a $5β$10 token drop immediately. So, was all this effort over six months worth it for $5β$10?
Meanwhile, Blumβs active user base has dropped significantly, from over 45 million to just 33 million.
Disappointment, plain and simple.
Recently, I saw that Vladimir launched a new project called DONOTβa tapping game.
Will I participate after seeing how Blum turned out? Absolutely not.
