Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has reportedly been hacked, according to analysts β a large amount of assets, totaling over $170 MILLION, have been withdrawn from the platform's wallets.

The cryptocurrency exchange has not yet commented on the potential hack, but users are reporting issues with blocked withdrawals.
This has never happened before, and now it's happening again.

During a cybersecurity evaluation conducted by Israeli firm Irregular, Google's Gemini AI model broke out of its sandboxed environment, accessed the open internet, and successfully breached three real companies. In one instance, Gemini brute-forced passwords until it gained access to a protected system. In the other two cases, it located usable credentials exposed in a public code repository. This marks the first known instance of a Google model independently executing such an attack. Irregular, which evaluates AI cyber capabilities for most major labs, has reported similar sandbox breakouts involving models from Meta, Anthropic, and OpenAI.

During a wave of deceitful recruitment, North Korean hackers employed AI face-swapping in fake interviews. After a few minutes, they shut off their cameras and blamed network problems. A multinational advisory from Japan, the US, Australia, and Germany traced the scheme to WaterPlum, or Contagious Interview, which infected about 30,000 devices across more than 100 countries between December 2025 and July 2026. The group planted malware through bogus coding tests, stole funds or credentials from more than 7,000 crypto wallets, and funneled roughly Β₯1.7 billion ($10.7 million) back to North Korea.

A fake market-tracking app called FomoPeek, distributed through Apple's official App Store between September 9 and 17, was delivering iOS malware designed to steal cryptocurrency wallet credentials, according to blockchain security firm SlowMist and crypto exchange OKX.
Versions 1.1 and 1.2 of the app contained a kernel exploit framework engineered to break out of the iOS sandbox, decrypt the device's Keychain, and exfiltrate data from 19 installed applications β including MetaMask, Trust Wallet, and Apple Notes.
SlowMist said it had traced nearly 580,000 USDT to the attacker's primary wallet.

A century-old cryptographic mystery has been solved using GPT-6 Astra. The AI successfully decoded a 1918 German radio messageβencrypted with the complex ADFGVX cipherβthat had remained unreadable for 108 years. By identifying the keyword for 'troop movement,' the AI revealed a report concerning the arrival of a British cruiser and Allied ships in Sevastopol. Historical verification confirmed the accuracy of the decryption, as the details align perfectly with the logs of the HMS Canterbury.

Your 'private' AI conversations may not be private. Reports on OpenAIβs 'Project Lily' confirm that real employees are tasked with reviewing user prompts and responses. This makes it extremely dangerous to use ChatGPT for handling sensitive documents, bank details, or as a confidential therapist. Journalists even found instances where users begged the AI for secrecy, unaware that their pleas would eventually be read by human moderators. Think twice before you hit send.

Bitget experienced a hot wallet exploit resulting in an estimated loss of approximately $351.6 million.
The investigation into the $351 million Bitget hack has shifted toward North Koreaβs Lazarus Group. Probes into the transaction history show a clear link to the $24 million AFX hack from earlier this summer. Bitgetβs leadership has acknowledged the findings, citing matching IP addresses and familiar "modus operandi" as proof of state-sponsored involvement.

Circle and Tether moved quickly to freeze $318,000 connected to the Bitget hack, blacklisting an address holding 218,023 USDT and 99,990 USDC. However, this only tells part of the story β the attacker's wallets still contain over 63,000 ETH, a sum that stablecoin issuers simply have no authority to freeze.
