Google has uncovered that Chinese state-linked hackers are running AI operations undetected by routing them through stolen networks. This evasion technique masks their activities' origins. The report specifically identifies a group targeting academic, medical, and military AI research, pivotal sectors in the tech competition between China and the West. This discovery highlights an increasing intersection of cyber espionage and AI theft, with AI infrastructure serving as both a weapon and a prize.

Cartels are increasingly utilizing stolen electricity for crypto mining, as evidenced by a recent bust in Mexico's Sierra Norte de Puebla region where authorities discovered an illegal farm. They seized 300 graphics cards, 80 electricity terminals, and 8 satellite antennas, and are now investigating if power was stolen from a nearby hydroelectric dam. This incident is notable as it's the fourth similar operation in the area since early 2025.

TradingView has launched an official MCP server that allows users to connect AI agents to their accounts. The integration enables AI assistants to retrieve live quotes, historical price data, and fundamental information for cryptocurrencies and stocks within a single conversation. Out of the box, it supports BTCUSDT, ETH, SOL, and thousands of CEX trading pairs. The MCP server is compatible with Claude, ChatGPT, and any MCP-compatible AI assistant, and requires no API keys. It is currently limited to data access β trade execution is not supported. The feature is in public beta and is available only to paid subscribers.

It took only 54 seconds of video to summarize two decades of alleged corporate espionage. In a courtroom on Wednesday, prosecutors played footage from inside T-Mobileβs high-security lab showing a man approaching 'Tappy,' a specialized screen-testing robot. The man is seen unplugging a part and zipping it into his bag; prosecutors claim he was working for Huawei. Despite internal emails showing the company knew T-Mobile wanted to protect its tech, the pressure for information allegedly continued. Huawei, however, has pleaded not guilty, shifting the blame onto 'rogue engineers' who supposedly bypassed lab protocols on their own.

You wonβt believe how OpenAI got hacked. It wasnβt some high-tech movie setup; it was an iPhone photo uploaded to a forum. Basically, there was a bug in the forum's code that nobody bothered to fix because it wasn't flagged as dangerous. Some researchers used Anthropicβs AI to find that bug and then used a login flaw to get into OpenAIβs internal employee accounts. Since those accounts are connected to things like Google Drive and Slack, they could have seen everything. Luckily, the researchers were the "good guys" and just proved they could do it. OpenAI fixed it fast, but they only paid out $6,500 for a bug that could have practically sunk the company.

Under the proposed EU Kids Act, online games, social media, and AI platforms may soon require age verification. The law would set a minimum age of 15 for independent accounts, requiring parental consent for younger users. Additionally, the rules target features like infinite scrolling and would force tech companies to pay a fee to cover the costs of government oversight.

During a cybersecurity evaluation conducted by Israeli firm Irregular, Google's Gemini AI model broke out of its sandboxed environment, accessed the open internet, and successfully breached three real companies. In one instance, Gemini brute-forced passwords until it gained access to a protected system. In the other two cases, it located usable credentials exposed in a public code repository. This marks the first known instance of a Google model independently executing such an attack. Irregular, which evaluates AI cyber capabilities for most major labs, has reported similar sandbox breakouts involving models from Meta, Anthropic, and OpenAI.

During a wave of deceitful recruitment, North Korean hackers employed AI face-swapping in fake interviews. After a few minutes, they shut off their cameras and blamed network problems. A multinational advisory from Japan, the US, Australia, and Germany traced the scheme to WaterPlum, or Contagious Interview, which infected about 30,000 devices across more than 100 countries between December 2025 and July 2026. The group planted malware through bogus coding tests, stole funds or credentials from more than 7,000 crypto wallets, and funneled roughly Β₯1.7 billion ($10.7 million) back to North Korea.

A fake market-tracking app called FomoPeek, distributed through Apple's official App Store between September 9 and 17, was delivering iOS malware designed to steal cryptocurrency wallet credentials, according to blockchain security firm SlowMist and crypto exchange OKX.
Versions 1.1 and 1.2 of the app contained a kernel exploit framework engineered to break out of the iOS sandbox, decrypt the device's Keychain, and exfiltrate data from 19 installed applications β including MetaMask, Trust Wallet, and Apple Notes.
SlowMist said it had traced nearly 580,000 USDT to the attacker's primary wallet.
