U.S. Futures Fluctuate; Oil Jumps on OPEC+ Dispute: Markets Wrap
U.S. equity-index futures fluctuated between gains and losses, as crude oil surged above $76 per barrel and investors weighed the potential for a more hawkish tilt at the Federal Reserve and worsening OPEC+ tensions over oil production.

Malaysia – a failed state. Really ?
.
I want to share with you something I wrote a few years ago.
.
In 1982, when I entered university, my father told me to study hard so that I can get a good degree and migrate to Australia or UK. He heard from his friends that Malaysia was going to be bankrupt and there was no future here. [this was in 1982... almost 40 years ago].
.
In 1987, when I first started working, my friends told me... save as much as you can so that we all can migrate to Australia. There is no future here. The country is going to the dogs. Get out as soon as you can.
.
In 1994, when I left my employer and started my business, people told it was a bad move. They told me "the country was going to be bankrupt soon, Mahathir and his sons have swindled all the money and you better stay with your current company. There is no future in Malaysia”.
.
In 2004, when my business had grown and I opened a branch office in Sabah, people told me was a bad move. They told me "the country was failing. Mahathir has quit because there is no more money to be made and Pak Lah has got no money to run the country"
.
In 2009, when our business had grown substantially, the same people told me "it is time to get out. Najib and his cronies have taken over and the country is going to be bankrupt. Cash out your business and invest in Singapore”
.
In 2018, when PH took over the government, people also told me “time to get out. These Pakatoon fellows got no experience running the country, the stock market and ringgit are going to crash. Take out all your money and park them in Singapore or Australia”.
.
It is now 2021. I keep hearing the same shit. Failed state. Country going bankrupt. No future in Malaysia. This has been going on for decades after decades. Not just yesterday.
.
Well, my point is there are always plenty of negative people around. People who have difficulty understanding the big picture and long-term trends. They choose to whine and focus on short-term problems. They confuse their hatred for the government of the day, misplaced political loyalties with their own personal misfortunes and dissatisfactions.
.
Sometime all it takes is one half-baked journalist somewhere writing one article demeaning our country, thousands of Malaysians also jump into the bandwagon without questioning whether the article is accurate, fair and honest.
.
Of course, every country has its problems and challenges. Malaysia too. Every country has its fair share of idiotic politicians and stupid people. Every country has its legacy issues [remember : President Trump of the USA even went around grabbing women by their ****]
.
MALAYSIA IS NOT GOING TO FAIL NOR IS IT GOING TO BE BANKRUPT. We have our problems, like all other countries, and we just need to work them out.
.
p.s.
I just focus on running my business - which is doing very well, thank you. I let other people worry about the country failing or going bankrupt.
