I’ve been gone for quite a while, and I think I’m finally ready to tell you where I disappeared to.
The past few months have been absolutely crazy. It all started with two little pigeon chicks that I found and took in. There were days of constant feeding, watching over them, worrying, and doing everything I possibly could to help them. Sadly, I wasn’t able to save the younger one. The older chick stayed with me, kept growing, learned how to eat on his own, started flying, and little by little became a proper grown-up pigeon.
At the same time, I was dealing with driving school and driving lessons, work obviously didn’t disappear either, and my internet occasionally decided to remind me that stability is a luxury. All of that made it really difficult to stay in a normal working rhythm.
And then another tiny creature appeared in my life — a kitten from the street. Of course I couldn’t just walk past her. 😅 She needed treatment, care, and a lot of attention too.
And as if all of that wasn’t enough, at some point I got sick myself.
On top of everything, I have another huge event coming up: at the end of October I’ll be going to a festival in Moscow, and this time I’m not just attending as a guest. I’m responsible for a huge part of the visuals and I’m literally drawing the merch for the festival! There is a LOT of work to do — and I mean A LOT — but I really want to make it something special.
At some point I looked at everything that was happening and realized that I simply couldn’t keep trying to do absolutely everything at once. So I weighed the pros and cons and consciously put several things on pause.
So that I could start drawing again.
Not endlessly chasing deadlines, not feeling guilty about every missed post, but actually enjoying creating something new again.
I’m back ❤️
Little by little, everything is starting to settle down, and I finally feel ready to post, draw, and share things with you again.
And some good news: the kitten has recovered! As for the pigeon, he grew up enough for me to realize that, for a full and happy pigeon life, he really needs to be around others of his kind. So, with a very heavy heart, I brought him to the rehabilitation center “Crow’s Nest.” Now he’ll be living in a dovecote with other pigeons, and I truly hope he’ll have the happiest little pigeon life there. ❤️
For now, my plan is to gradually finish and send out all the commissions and Boosty gifts that have piled up, and after that I’ll dive headfirst into creating art for the festival.
And I’ll leave you with one tiny little spoiler. 👀
In November, I’m planning to run a charity event: I want to open five commission slots and donate all the money from them to support “Crow’s Nest.”
But I’ll tell you more about that a little later. ^^
