🚨🚨RALLY AT KCL 🚨🚨
πŸ“ STRAND CAMPUS ENTRANCE
πŸ•°οΈ 10.30am
πŸ—“οΈ 30/5/2024
πŸ‰πŸ‰πŸ‰

The time has come and we are calling upon KCL and our allies. The meeting with the Vice Chancellor, Shitij Kapur, and the Chief Financial Officer is happening this Thursday. We have no illusions about the use of this meeting, but we must ensure that its impacts are lasting, whether or not they give us our demands.

Join us on Thursday on Strand Campus entrance, for a rally and a teach out on the role of the student movement, while our delegates make our stance clear on the negotiation table.

We will not accept false victories, we have made our stance clear, we are giving management the chance to make theirs. We’ve learnt from those before us, and we are committed to the steadfastness of the Palestinian struggle and extending it to our campus.

DISCLOSE, DIVEST, DEMILITARISE.

Having received some more legal advice we’ve made a short list of considerations and possible courses of action:

1. you DO NOT have to give your details, most likely the police will stop the kettle soon, if they do arrest you under a SECTION 50 for not giving details this is UNLAWFUL, if you are not committing anti social behaviour. If you are under arrest ask UNDER WHAT POWER.
2. Section 50 is targeting anti social behaviour, if you are interpreted to have been engaging in antisocial behaviour this gives police leeway to ask for your personal details.
3. The preferable course of action is to not give your details, most likely the kettle will end soon.
4. If you are arrested for non-compliance in giving your details the charges are weak. If you were targeted for merely standing around or sitting and waiting this is not grounds for a section 50 arrest.
5. ALWAYS ask under what power.
6. If you do choose to give your details (which is understandable this is a stressful situation), they will most likely be stored. This is most likely a data gathering tactic.

REMEMBER:
UNDER WHAT POWER πŸ‰
ASK β€œWHAT BEHAVIOUR” πŸ‰
ONLY GIVE NAME AND ADDRESSπŸ‰

+ A section 35 has been introduced, this is a 48 hour dispersal notice, obviously it is hard to leave when police are actively preventing you from doing so, but this is an intimidation tactic done in order to collect data.

You have to take this case by case, if you have visa considerations or are vulnerable because of anything else, take the course of action that best suits YOU. This is all general advice, but it is the individuals decision at the end.

The path to liberation is strenuous but we keep each other safe, we support and respect one another, and it’s through this that we will eventually come out victorious πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ΈπŸ‰

🚨🚨due to recent events the VC and CFO have BACKED OUT of the meeting on the 30th.

The rally will still go ahead as our team meet with management to gain more clarity on the university’s position on divestment and demilitarisation, and of course the safety of the encampment.

Come tomorrow for a teach out outside of strand campus on the role of the student movement, and Palestinian political prisoners.

βš οΈβ€ΌοΈALL OUT FOR RAFAH TOMORROWβ€ΌοΈβš οΈ

Join us at the πŸ“SOAS Liberated Zone ⏰ FRIDAY 31ST 2PM

Rafah is still under attack as Israel continues to murder displaced Palestinians who’ve fled to the area… its day 236 and we are still demanding an end to the arming of Israel and an end to the siege on Gaza…

The SOAS Liberated Zone is almost a month old… it’s day 24 and we are still calling for SOAS to end its funding of and complicity in this genocide…

Last night, many students and comrades were arrested for demonstrating against the attacks on Rafah at Downing St. At SOAS, over the year pro-Palestine students on campus have been suspended from their own uni and SOAS have actively collaborated with the Met Police for the arrest of their own students.

Join us to rally against the complicity of our university in this genocide and the siege on Rafah! As long as they have blood on their hands, they will never know peace!!!
