Think of marcus aurelius. He didn’t write his meditations to be a philosopher king for the history books, he wrote them to himself, in the middle of a war, just to keep his own soul intact. He wasn’t performing for an audience or trying to 'disrupt' an empire. He was simply being a man trying to live virtuously. His fame is an accident of his sincerity.

Or consider leonardo davinci. He wasn't chasing a 'personal brand' or looking for a 'monumental exit.' He was often so immersed in the act of being curious... simply being an observer of the world that he forgot to even finish his paintings. The 'success' of the Mona Lisa is a byproduct of a man who was just being fascinated by light and shadow.

Even marie curie didn’t labor in a shed because she was desperate for two nobel prizes. She was just being a seeker, looking into the darkness of the unknown because she couldn't imagine doing anything else.

These figures didn't have five year plans for 'greatness.' They weren't checking their 'impact' every hour. They were so deeply integrated into their work that the distinction between the person and the craft disappeared. Contrast that with the modern noise: the endless announcements, the obsession with 'scale,' and the desperation to be seen as 'someone.' When you are desperate to be seen, you are no longer looking at the work, you are just looking at the mirror.

History doesn't remember the people who were obsessed with being famous; it remembers the people who were obsessed with the truth. Motivation is just a fleeting feeling, but 'just being' is a state of existence that requires no external validation. If you have to tell everyone you are going to change the world, you probably aren't busy enough doing it.

I was looking for support resources (like hotlines, shelters, etc.) for a project I’m working on(part of final year project) and while practicing I ended up asking Claude to do a small web app… then I thought, why not just deploy it lol

It’s mostly focused on Ethiopia rn If you’re a woman or honestly anyone who might need support resources or just wants to explore what’s available(not perfect but idk )
