🚨 TONIGHT: Wealth Currents

I think I may have to dredge up our secondary school memories here.

Remember the “North East Trade Wind” from secondary school geography?

We were taught that it was responsible for bringing harmattan.

This is true, but there’s more to it.

It was also a consistent and reliable pattern of strong winds that aided the movement of ships.

This helped merchants of times past move large amounts of goods, facilitating trade routes between Europe, Africa and the Americas.

Using these winds for navigation made sea travel efficient and predictable.

You see why I keep pressing the necks of the hypnotized _school na scam_ masses?!

I digress.

There are people who struggle in life because there is no wind in their sails (pun intended). Get it? Sales? 😉

They’re paddling haplessly to make one or two naira, to pay one or two bills… and then the financial anxiety cycle repeats the next months.

And there are people like me who have peered into the fabric of reality and determined that though there may be no shortcuts in life, there are superior provisions in nature that feel like shortcuts to the uninitiated.

One of such provisions of nature is that which states that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line…

but that the practicality of the above sentence means two different things to the man traveling by road versus the man traveling by air.

*oya burst into tongues. you know that’s a word right there*

Back to trade winds.

There are people paddling their canoes on the sea of fortune, hoping endlessly on inferior and expired technology.

Why wouldn’t the arm of flesh fail?

They haven’t upgraded to higher provisions of nature for their situation - trade winds that give rest, provide speed to your sails and ultimately hasten wealth.

People say that man was cursed to till the ground through labor.

Well, I had nothing to do with your Adam’s problems.

I do not till. If I need to sweat, I do so willingly at the gym or sauna.

But when it comes to generating wealth, I do not do such an accursed thing as toil.

I will set my sails as the initiated do and let the trade winds take me to my fortune.

☝🏽 Cont’d… Poor kids start out life with a lot of optimism and intelligence, but often fail to reap the expected rewards from said intelligence due to poor world knowledge.

That is, poor education on:
- the nature, systems and power structure of the world (and country) you were born into
- ⁠what specific activities are most highly rewarded in your country and time period

The above topics won’t be taught in school otherwise those your financially strained teachers wouldn’t be teaching you in the first place.

And the poor kid grows up to deploy their intelligence in ways that are poorly rewarded, and/or in a society that is (mis)configured to reward something else (like thuggery for example) because it’s what they know.

Elites are not naive about real world realities and they raise their kids with this in mind.

Their moves and decisions are rooted in ruthless pragmatism, not sentiments or blind hope.

I’ll continue this write up on this week’s study notes for the Trade Winds series.

When you are this close 🤏🏼 to figuring it out, ‘the system’ will send you a diversion - a phone call, social media update, maybe an unsolicited knock on your door.

It’s not random.

The system profits off of a critical mass of people remaining disconnected from their true selves, living perpetually in fight or flight mode, never reserving sufficient mental energy for catching synchronicities.

It will keep you too busy to think.

But you absolutely must think, and read, and learn, and grow.

The road to destruction is broad. I must admit that ‘destruction’ does seem a tad bit dramatic.

More like the road to more emptiness, chasing meaningless adulation/awards so you have a brief feeling of being special, constant fear of loss, etc.

Yeah, the road to all that… is broad.

The game of life is out here catfishing everyone else.

But the way to life… life on your own terms… the one that endures and really feels like life… one without fear of existential threats… no debt, chasing nothing but attracting everything…

Yeah, the road to that particular life, is narrow.

Few will find the narrow road because it won’t be advertised.

Pause and think.

Study, journal, course correct.

Improve. Find others doing the same.

There is no other way.

Knowledge makes a man unfit to be a slave.

And one more thing…

When you find your oasis, your paradise, your heaven, your little village by the sea…

Shut up about it.

The masses will destroy what they cannot possess.

Shut up and take in that suntan.

You’d have earned it.

Financial anxiety and FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) on life can cause you to chase people who are in reality going through exactly what you’re going through, or worse.

It’s the status equivalent of make up filters and fake lashes that happens in most big cities of the world as a survival strategy.

Everyone is catfishing everyone with the illusion of having the secret sauce knowing damn well they’re just as lost and empty.

Sit your anxious ass at home and be faithful to your purpose.

Commit to executing on the same boring plan that gets you closer to your goals.

Read, plan, execute.
