There are some speakers/teachers that you listen to and may not connect with at the moment.

As you grow and progress in life, check back in with their content.

Something in you may have changed to enable you connect with what they’d been saying all along.

Same applies to books.

One skill that can get you ahead in the world is learning to properly articulate yourself to people.

Do not be content with habitually rambling and fumbling over your points.

Take some time to practice arranging your points on paper, then in your head, before doing so verbally in words.

In time, you won’t need paper.

You’ll grow fluent…

Influential too.

Hmmm… I wonder why those words look alike.

The School of the Poor loves verses like ‘ask and it shall be given’.

The slogan is valid but out of order.

It works for those who focused FIRST on the philosophy of “Give and it shall be given unto you”.

It works for those who understand FIRST the wisdom of "The borrower is the slave to the lender".

Only after giving, do the elite ask.

They know for a fact and without prayer, that the answer will never be NO.

The poor hope and pray to be favoured.

The rich guarantee it.

Nigeria’s most influential politicians practice this and prosper.

Some will be elected into office this year based on this principle, and they will rule over you.

Remember this: Poverty is not financial lack.

It’s a system and culture that makes you act out in ways that burns your bridges and destroys your seed before it has a chance to germinate.

Stop. Think. Observe your surroundings.

Are you starting to connect the dots?

Rooting for you.

People say there are no stupid questions, but I say there are questions that decrease your status and quality people’s desire to have you around.

If you ask a person what app they used, do not ask how much it costs and how to access it.

You can Google that.

If a person recommends a book to you, do not ask where to get it.

You can Google that.

When you read a person’s post and find a word you don’t know, do not ask for the meaning.

Look it up on Google and return to the post with enhanced understanding.

All fingers are not equal and it’s quite the same with our respective educational backgrounds.

Google is an equalizer in many regards including this, so use it.

There are questions that make you attractive to converse with and stay connected to.

And there are questions that signal to onlookers that you’re a commoner.

“Wisdom is the ability to discern the difference.” - Mike Murdock

So discern.

The Game of Life is political.

When you see people whose results you admire, you must realize that the same inner voice that gives them superior ideas, direction and intuition is also available to you.

The problem is that when it tells you clearly the way you must go, you discard it on the altar of fear, doubt and indecision.

King Solomon wrote, “Wisdom is like a woman shouting in the street; she raises her voice in the city squares.”

And what happens when this babe keeps trying to get your attention and you keep ignoring her entreaties?

She will heal, move on and knock on the imagination of the next person.

There is still time in 2023 to make the rest of your life, the best of your life.

BUT…

That which YOU KNOW you must do, DO QUICKLY!

Rooting for you.

An interesting quote to ponder on this weekend.

Life is a game…

All around us, we see the patterns amidst the ordered chaos.

Ludo, Chess, Snakes and Ladders, and even Monopoly, are all games that mimic the unwritten rules of life.

The Game of Life series will unpack these principles, starting with Chess, with a view to helping you understand the roles we all play on the Chessboard of Life, and how to choose your role.

This will not be aired publicly on Youtube, but you can request your zoom invite here: https://hsa.to/thegame

If you wish to invite a friend, please use the same URL.

This is happening tonight (Sat. 11th Feb) at 9pm WAT.

There will be no recordings.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone.

Let us take this opportunity to be kinder, more thoughtful and more tolerant of other human beings.

Extend your charity to those who may be struggling.

On social media and in real life, express only kind words to people. Extinguish the rest.

Love yourself. You matter too.

Cheers,

— John Obidi

“There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat;
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.”

The above is culled from William Shakespeare’s play, Julius Caesar.

Brutus is considering whether to lead his forces against the army of the Roman general Mark Antony. He is unsure of what to do and is weighing his options when he utters this famous quote.

The phrase "There is a tide in the affairs of men" refers to the idea that there are crucial moments in life when the timing and circumstances are just right for taking action.

If one seizes these moments, they can lead to great success and fortune.

However, if one fails to take advantage of these opportunities, the opposite might be the case as some opportunities for ascension never knock twice.

There are movements that cannot be reignited after the energy of the moment is gone.

In this Game of Life, what is the role of chance?

What is the role of timing?

What lessons can we draw from games that draw heavily upon chance, like Ludo, Monopoly and Snakes and Ladders?

How can you be well positioned to catch the timely tides of defining moments?

Join us in the second installment of “The Game of Life” series as we discuss “Rolling the dice”

It will be held on Zoom, tonight (17-02) at 9pm WAT.
