Our answer to the bullshit people are talking about "students are not over 25 years!" Part 1
Well, first:
a) it depends from country to country!!!!!!!!! In Switzerland for example to study economics, health, food technology, etc. YOU NEED TO WASTE 1 YEAR BEFORE starting to study such things! exactly like if you wish to study at ETHZ or somewhere else!
- i candidati che non sono in possesso di una maturità socio-sanitaria iniziano la formazione dopo aver svolto un anno di “moduli complementari” costituiti da settimane di formazione a scuola e di formazione pratica in istituzioni sociosanitarie https://perma.cc/4H9F-6YA4
- La passerella “maturità professionale / specializzata – scuole universitarie” è un esame complementare alla MP o specializzata il cui superamento permette l’accesso agli studi presso le università e le alte scuole pedagogiche svizzere https://perma.cc/5LDZ-EHWT
- Vor dem Studium müssen Sie mindestens ein Jahr praktische Erfahrung im Berufsalltag gesammelt oder eine Lehre in einem Bereich abgeschlossen haben, der mit dem Studiengebiet verwandt ist https://perma.cc/24HU-VNP9
- Die Berufspraxis (12 Monate) muss eine überwiegend kaufmännische Tätigkeit enthalten und nach Abschluss der Sekundarstufe II (z.B. BM oder EFZ) stattgefunden haben https://perma.cc/BZM9-8NJY

b) a Bachelor is not just 3 years! there are Bachelor with 4 years! For example Vollzeit (6 Semester), Teilzeit (8 Semester) but even Bachelor NOT offering a 3 year option at all! https://perma.cc/5NFV-R5FE
c) students can fail / need to repeat the year or whatever: for example ETHZ "Das Bachelor-Studium ist auf eine Regelstudienzeit von drei Jahren (6 Semestern) ausgerichtet. Die maximal
zulässige Studiendauer beträgt fünf Jahre" and remember around 30-50% of all students will not pass exams!

Sappiamo tuttavia, e ce lo dice nuovamente la statistica scolastica, che la percentuale degli allievi di scuola media superiore che subisce una bocciatura al primo anno di liceo è passato dal 18.2% dell’anno scolastico 1998/1999 al 25.9% registrato nell’anno scolastico 2018/2019 (dal 17.3% al 32.1% per la Scuola cantonale di commercio).
Remember that in Switzerland you can fail mostly just once!!!! Means if you fail 2x the last course in a Master, you will lose 5 years or more!
ETHZ: Ein nicht bestandener Prüfungsblock kann nur einmal wiederholt werden.
d) you need to do another year to validate the bachelor (and you can even earn 0 CHF during this year too!!!, like 0 CHF during other practicums, which is just a SHAME! for Switzerland)

Wer in der Absicht, den Zivildienst zu verweigern, eine Zivildienstleistung, zu der er aufgeboten ist, nicht antritt, seinen Einsatzbetrieb ohne Erlaubnis verlässt oder nach einer rechtmässigen Abwesenheit nicht zu ihm zurückkehrt, wird mit Freiheitsstrafe bis zu 18 Monaten oder Geldstrafe bestraft https://perma.cc/3UWN-HHZP

f) without considering changing university / bachelor or whatever (even if you have not failed ... but because you are not happy ...)
Männer wechseln etwas häufiger das Bildungsfeld als Frauen (AG: 21% vs. 18%).
Gymnasiastinnen und Gymnasiasten, welche die Matura mit einer (sehr) guten Maturitätsnote abgeschlossen haben, wechseln signifikant seltener da.
Die Studienerfolgsquote hängt vom Alter bei Studieneintritt ab, wobei sich der Zusammenhang besonders stark bei Personen mit einem UH-Studieneintritt zeigt: Jüngere Studierende erlangen deutlich häufiger einen UH-Abschluss beziehungsweise einen Hochschulabschluss im Allgemeinen, brechen deutlich seltener das Studium ab und befinden sich seltener (sechs Jahre nach Studienbeginn) noch im Bachelorstudium.
g) without considering other issues, like diseases ...
h) without considering if you go somewhere learning English or whatever or you are doing other type of pause ...
Maturandinnen und Maturanden mit guten bis sehr guten Noten treten häufiger nahtlos an eine Hochschule über als solche mit mittleren oder unterdurchschnittlichen Noten.
i) we don't need to forget exams before the bachelor!
Humanmedizin: 3510 Bewerbungen im Juli; 34% der Testteilnehmenden haben einen Studienplatz erhalten. 17.4% haben zwischen Februar und Juli ihre Bewerbung zurückgezogen.
Das Verhältnis von Anzahl Bewerbende zu Studienplätzen liegt in Bern mehr als doppelt so hoch wie in Winterthur.
