IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir says the campaign against Hezbollah is only in its early stages, warning that the fighting across multiple fronts is set to intensify in the coming weeks.

He emphasized that Iran remains the primary front, but the northern arena is deeply interconnected, with Hezbollah acting as a central proxy. According to Zamir, once operations against Iran conclude, Hezbollah will be left increasingly isolated.

The IDF is preparing to expand both ground operations in southern Lebanon and ongoing airstrikes, signaling a prolonged and escalating campaign.

“We are prepared for weeks of continued intensity,” Zamir said, adding that operations will not stop until the threat to northern Israel is pushed back and long-term security is secured.

Israel is significantly reducing air traffic at Ben Gurion Airport following escalating security concerns and recent missile impacts in central areas.

Starting Monday (tomorrow) at 17:00, airport operations will be cut to just one departing flight per hour. Outbound flights will be limited to a maximum of 50 passengers per plane, a sharp restriction aimed at minimizing risk and managing flow during the current situation.

Meanwhile, land border crossings remain fully operational with no changes reported.

For the first time, fighters from the IDF’s Hasmonean Brigade, a Haredi combat unit, have been operating in southern Lebanon in recent weeks, conducting targeted raids under the Baram Formation (300th Brigade) as part of Israel’s forward defense effort.

The unit, whose troops have previously seen action in Syria, Judea and Samaria, and Gaza, is now expanding into the northern front amid ongoing escalation. Alongside combat operations, the brigade has also launched its first internal officers’ training cycle, aimed at building a future cadre of Haredi commanders while maintaining the religious framework of its soldiers.
