Tonight’s livestream may not happen.
I’m having an electrician prep the area for HVAC install tomorrow & they had to cut the power leading into my office (where I livestream).

Reading through Nahum this morning.
Idols.
Have you ever studied what ancient idolatry looked like?
I always thought, “K, they make an idol and worship it bc they believe it’ll help their crops or give them victory in battle.”
And while idolatry is worshipping ANYTHING besides God, there was an ancient ritual where idol worshippers would do that made the deity indwell in the image.
*real quick: all these ceremonies including an oath taking by the craftsman vowing that they did not make the idol*
Ancient Egypt, Assyria, Mesopotamia, & other places all had similar rituals called “mouth washing” or “the opening of the mouth.”
The ritual differed from place to place, but the emphasis on the idol speaking is clear.
There could be lots of idols/copies of idols, but the “official” idols that were in the temples all went through this ritual.
And, after doing a bit of study, why does God insult idols so often about how they dont/cant breathe?
Because they dont/cant breathe.
And if we look to Revelation 13:15, the Antichrist is “granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast shall both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.”
Idols. Speech. Breath.
What does it all mean?
The spiritual war we are in is God (having already won the victory with Jesus Christ’s death on the cross) being challenged by Satan (who will never win, but will deceive many as though he can or has).
One way that Satan was successful in ancient history was deceiving people to believe in idols.
A critical part of the idol ritual was to get the idol to speak.
We could dive deeper in what that means, but consider the implications: man makes something & then believes the made thing has authority over him - despite how obvious that the made thing is just a made thing.
People want to believe absurdity bc it justifies them “making” a world where they are the creators.
Idols can be lots of things, but the one tell is that idolatry reflects a desire to be god.
Even if it looks stupid & doesnt make sense.

No one has ever asked, but if you’re wondering:
Yes. Yes, I am yuuuuge fan of hair metal bands of the 80s.

Q is so very intriguing.
Many anons are certainly talented.
Yes, I want there to be an awakening that brings justice to the cabal.
I do not intend to detract from Q. I intend to put Q in his/her/their correct context.
And that is that Jesus Christ is the light & the bible is our source of knowing truth.
I understand wanting to get as many people to our way of thinking as possible.
Consider that the gospel includes warning of punishment so that the news is understood as good.
It is frustrating to see decent people suffer from godless commies.

Just realized my posts yesterday about Nahum were from Habbakkuk.
Folks, I make mistakes. I read through Nahum & started on Habbakkuk without realizing it.
Habbakkuk 2:18-19 was the part where I was referencing.
Ugh.
That’s embarrassing.

Satan tactic:
Say stuff so bizarre that your common sense is bamboozled.
“If you are an intersectional person, like a black woman or a trans, then it’s like you speak multiple languages & can understand other communities better.”
Hot. Garbage.
But how do we respond?
Conservatives, being based & logical, will be like, “That doesn’t make sense bc of <reason>.”
But, we fight with weapons of warfare that are not carnal.
“Jesus Christ died on the cross so you don’t have to be tormented forever in hell for believing that idolatry.”
Truth trumps lies.
It’s not up to us to “win” arguments.
It’s up to us to deliver the message.

Telling people the gospel of Jesus Christ is not “not doing anything.”
Consider:
1. Jesus Christ told you to (Matt 28)
2. The Holy Spirit works through it (Rom 10:17)
3. You offend the spirit of the age, which will put you into conflict.
4. People will witness the conflict, which will force their decision: Christ or not Christ (this is where the Holy Spirit does stuff).
5. Once you’ve offended the spirit of the age, it follows that additional offendings will be easier (you will grow to enjoy offending bc of God works through the offense).
6. Others will observe you offending others & determine that they can do what you do. The offense of the gospel then multiplies (do you think God can do stuff in multiple people simultaneously?).
7. Civic engagement (the arena of ideas) will be populated by an increasing number of those proclaiming Christ (imagine a body of warriors with locked shields - an indestructible wall).
8. As a form of social proof, those who follow courage (euphemistically insulted as “sheep”) will see lots of nobodies locked in agreement all saying the same thing: the gospel of Jesus Christ (again, can God do multiple things simultaneously?).
9. In the offending of others, you will have people who once disagreed with you change their minds (bc the Holy Spirit can do that - see Saul into Paul), and they may join you (people call these people “friends” and the bible calls them “co-laborers” or “saints” or “brothers/sisters”).
10. Once the conflict is center-stage (gospel of Christ v. whatever garbage non-Christians are peddling), the battle lines will be drawn & bystanders will have no muddled middle ground to hide. Decision, then, drives additional behavior (more gospel preaching).
11. At this point (and concurrent in all steps up until now), these gospel preaching folks get it in their heads (guess Who may be prompting these ideas?) to do things they wouldn’t normally do (internet livestreams, running for office, going to their neighbors’, changing kids’ school curriculum, ensuring their church preaches the gospel according to the bible & not the sappy emotionalism of a soy-Jesus, praying without ceasing, changing consumer behavior, or any other application of truth in their life).
12. And many more things that I haven’t considered and/or you don’t have the time to read.
Now, go to war.

Wow, another mistake.
Said on today’s bible study that the second temple was Solomon’s.
Solomon’s was the first. The second was overseen by Nehemiah/Ezra.
I had David/Solomon on my mind bc today’s passage referenced Psalm 69 (written by David - Solomon’s father).

It seems trite of the conservative industrial complex (ConINC) to be like:
“Isn’t MLB dumb for bowing to the godless commies?”
Yes!!!!
But that’s the spirit of the age.
Why not something like:
“America wasn’t built by that kinda cowardice”
or
“Good things Jesus didn’t quit”
or
“How much slavery will satisfy the godless commies?”
All of the above are better than pointing out obvious hypocrisy.
Hypocrisy is effective, but not persuasive.
Truth is persuasive.
