Arizona Lawmaker Calls for Scottsdale School Board President’s Resignation, Prosecution Over Alleged ‘Enemies List’ Database

“Parents in Scottsdale and across the state are mad as hell over this situation, and rightfully so,” Representative Jake Hoffman said. “These allegations are gravely concerning and should be investigated to the fullest extent. If true, Scottsdale Board President Jann-Michael Greenburg should resign in disgrace and be prosecuted for abuse of power. It is unacceptable and anti-American to compile dossiers on your political enemies, especially when those so-called enemies are the very people you were elected to serve.”

Republican Arizona Legislators Plan to Tackle Election Integrity, Vaccine Mandates, & More In 2022 Legislative Session

Rep. Jake Hoffman (R-Queen Creek) told The Arizona Sun Times he has over a dozen election integrity bills he plans to introduce. “Heading into the 2022 legislative session, election integrity continues to be not only the civil rights issue of our day but also the most important legislative issue facing our nation,” Rep. Jake Hoffman said. “In Arizona you can expect to see dozens of smart, common sense reforms that will ensure voter confidence for generations to come and greatly improve the overall security of Arizona elections.”

One of his other bills creates a whistleblower bounty system for students who expose violations of state law occurring in publicly funded classrooms. He explained how COVID-19 has created a need for this. “Unfortunately throughout COVID, Arizona, like the rest of America, has seen a concerning trend away from transparency emerge amongst our publicly funded government schools,” he told The Sun Times.

“District administrators and teachers unions have repeatedly attempted to stomp out parents’ right to be informed about and control their children’s educational experience. From Critical Race Theory to adult-on-student classroom intimidation and bullying for merely expressing an alternate opinion, it’s far past due for us as a society to empower students to report illegal behavior occurring in our publicly funded classrooms.”

A second bill of Hoffman’s requires divestment of state resources from any stocks, mutual funds, pension investment plans, etc. that donate to, or otherwise invest in, organizations that promote or advocate for abortions by minors or the inclusion of sexually explicit material (written, visual, audible or otherwise) in K-12 schools.

Arizona already has a law that prohibits investment of state funds in corporations that boycott Israel. Hoffman explained to The Sun Times why he would broaden it, “Arizonans overwhelmingly support protecting the lives of the most vulnerable in our communities. There is no conceivable reason why taxpayer resources should be spent propping up the stocks of mega corporations and Wall Street hedge funds who actively undermine Arizonans right to life by turning around and donating to organizations that promote abortions in minor, teen girls or the inclusion of sexually explicit material in our kindergarten through high school classrooms. It’s time to put an end to this abuse of taxpayer resources.”

A third bill of Hoffman’s would ban products made with forced labor from being sold in Arizona. “Communist China is the greatest threat facing the globe and it is both tragic and unfortunate that Democrats, along with their multi-billion dollar global corporatist cronies have prioritized profits and cheap goods over human dignity,” he said. “Enough is enough,” he said. “America has a storied history standing up for human rights and we must unwaveringly stand up for them once again. Arizona doesn’t care how many failed NFL quarterbacks you hire as spokesmen or how many fake news outlets you own, there is simply no reason that we should allow a single product made with forced or slave labor to be sold in our state.”

Hoffman told the Arizona Sun Times, “I’m proud to be counted as one of Arizona’s limited government, constitutional conservatives. The American Conservative Union rates members of Congress and state legislators every year, and this past year State Rep. Jake Hoffman (R-Queen Creek) was the only member of the Arizona Legislature to receive a perfect 100% rating. Other high scorers included State Sen. Warren Petersen (R-Gilbert), State Rep. Travis Grantham (R-Gilbert), and State Rep. Judy Burges (R-Prescott), who scored 98%.

How Christmas Eve 1776 changed the world forever

George Washington knelt in prayer at McKonkey's Ferry, asking the Lord for the right words to inspire his troops to keep going, before he crossed the Delaware River for a surprise attack on the British.

"We must remember, mankind allows that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community, are equally entitled to the protections of civil government." – George Washington

The greatest Christmas gift the world received was the night of our savior's birth. And its greatest gift to world freedom came on Christmas Eve, 1776, on the banks of the Delaware River – America.

The birthing of America was not easy. Only a third of the colonists supported a Revolution. It pitted neighbors against neighbors. These patriots were not only rebelling against the British. They were fighting other colonists who were loyal to British King George, parliament and the English church.
Often overlooked are the "fence sitters" who were content living free from monarchical dominance. They enjoyed colonial religious and economic freedoms, and tolerated the British as a necessary evil. The patriots needed to earn the support from these neutralists in order to win the Revolution.

The patriots humiliated the Loyalists in public and subjected them to violence, intimidation, ridicule and harassment. They vandalized their property and burned down their businesses. Even families were divided. Ben Franklin's son William, governor of New Jersey, was loyal to the king.

Colonists who did not join the patriots united with the British as obedient subjects. Others thought they could profit from selling arms and war supplies to the British without true allegiance to anyone.
Patriots had been building support for the Revolution since the end of the French and Indian War in 1763. In severe debt, the British enacted the 1765 abusive Stamp and the 1767 Townshend Acts. Following the patriots 1773 Tea Party in Boston Harbor, they passed The Coercive Acts in 1774. And that was the final insult the patriots needed to win the war of propaganda against the British!

Gifted orators like Patrick Henry and Enlightenment thinkers John Locke and Thomas Paine kept the momentum for revolution growing with colonial statesmen, politicians and with uneasy patriots.

“If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, so that my children may have peace.” – Thomas Paine

No man in the colonies was more persuasive with the commoners and the peasants in promoting the Revolutionary War than Enlightenment thinker and gifted English writer Thomas Paine. He had led reform movements in Europe and Paine inspired farmers, workers and commoners to revolt.

Paine went from towns, hamlets and villages distributing copies of his 90-page booklet, "Common Sense." Paine preached the rewards and the substantiality of independence to patriots who never dreamed it was an option.

On April 18, 1775, the British marched from Boston to Concord, Massachusetts, to seize stockpiled colonial weapons. Paul Revere rode through the streets of Boston rallying the patriots: "The British are coming, the British are coming!" The next day, when the patriots and the Redcoats clashed at Lexington and Concord, it was "the shot heard round the world.” This signified the beginning of the Revolution and, most importantly, it marked the birthing of America as the guardian of global liberty.

When the minutemen fired the first shots of the Revolution, the Redcoats were well prepared. They had superior weapons, ammo, uniforms and abundant food and medical supplies. They were ready to defend their turf. They were prepared to fight a marathon battle to stop the colonial insurrection.
On the other hand, the colonies had a volunteer army with no central government and little money. They sent troops to the Continental Army, but kept many behind to protect themselves.
Many of the colonies were more concerned for self-survival, while the British were determined to win the war.

Late in 1776, the Revolutionary War looked like it was a lost cause. The patriots lacked uniforms, food, ammunition and weapons and some were even shoeless. There was tremendous suffering from cold and starvation. A series of defeats had depleted morale, and many had already deserted.

In the bitter cold on Christmas Eve 1776, dogged by pelting sleet and snow, George Washington knelt in prayer at McKonkey's Ferry asking the Lord for the right words to inspire his troops to keep going. They needed to cross the Delaware River for a surprise attack on the British.

Historian James Cheetham wrote, "As Washington mounted his horse that night he pulled a draft of Thomas Paine's 'American Crisis' from his saddle bag. As he began reading it, he knew that it was the answer to his prayers. When he returned to camp he ordered it read to his troops immediately.''

“The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives a thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated.” – Thomas Paine

The next morning, Christmas Day 1776, Washington’s army crossed the icy Delaware and won two crucial battles. He defeated the British at Trenton and a week later he executed a daring night raid to capture Princeton on January 3. This gave control of New Jersey to America and turned around the morale and unified the colonial army. Washington's insightful reading of "The American Crisis" on Christmas Eve 1776 turned a humbling defeat into a glorious victory for the American patriots!

Shortly after the war John Adams remarked: “Without the pen of Paine, the sword of Washington would have been wielded in vain.” Washington’s men basked in its victory at Trenton since they had defeated a much mightier foe. Moreover, they realized Washington was a true leader and he could unite the colonies into a strong nation. Washington's faith in the Lord and his respect for the scholarly works of our Enlightenment thinkers like Thomas Paine, John Locke and others would help him articulate the Philadelphia Convention and write the world's longest lasting constitution.

The Lord guided Washington to victory on Christmas in 1776 at a time America needed a miracle to become a nation. He showed our founders how to form a more perfect union of states in 1787. He has continued to bless this nation in so many ways since 1776. Let us pray He will help us unite this divided nation so we can always defend our liberty. Merry Christmas.

How Christmas Day in Bethlehem changed the world forever

At that time the Roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire. All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census. And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. He took with him Mary, his fiancée, who was now obviously pregnant. And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped Him snugly in strips of cloth and laid Him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them. 

That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior–yes, the Messiah, the Lord–has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize Him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.” Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others–the armies of heaven–praising God and saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven,and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph.

And there was the baby, lying in the manger. After seeing Him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them. (Luke 2:1-20)

For God loved the world—each and every one of us—so much that He sent His one and only Son to bear the cost of our sins and mistakes, so that all who believe in Him will be washed clean of their imperfections and have eternal life.

Give it all to God. Don’t carry the burdens of this world alone.
