“This is truly a sad day for the Higley Unified School District and the students and families it serves. The level of apparent corruption is staggering and heartbreaking.  I am proud to have actively fought against this abuse of power, misuse of taxpayer monies, and blatant disregard for the law during my tenure on the Higley governing board.

As a result of these findings, I will be looking at opportunities for education reform legislation to introduce next session in order to ensure that crooked administrators stop bleeding our schools of their resources and start putting students and teachers first.”

Rep. Jake Hoffman (R-Queen Creek), who refused to vote for the education budget bill unless it contained the ban on mask mandates due to his concern about the effects of masks on children, told The Arizona Sun Times, “Given President Biden’s busy schedule overseeing the many historic failures of his administration — like ushering in the total collapse of Afghanistan, eliminating America’s energy independence, crushing hardworking families with runaway price inflation, spending our grandchildren into debt, and destroying our freedoms with yet another wave of COVID and vaccine mandates — I’m surprised he had the time to comment on the unlawful actions of a rogue government bureaucrat in Arizona.”

UNIVERSAL VOTER ID NEEDED IN AZ

Rep. Jake Hoffman (R-Queen Creek) refuted the criticism that the initiative is supposed to benefit Republicans. During his press conference speech, he cited a recent Data Orbital poll, which found that all Arizonans overwhelmingly support voter ID requirements. A majority from every major demographic — race, ethnicity, Republicans, Democrats, and Independents — support it, averaging 82 percent of likely Arizona voters. Another 63% want voter ID required for mail-in voting.

Universal voter ID is the right thing to do. It’s not the only step that needs to be taken though, which is why my fellow Republicans and I are currently working on numerous critical election integrity and election security reforms for the coming legislative session.

Election integrity has become the civil rights issue of our time.

Ensuring that every citizen can have faith and confidence knowing that their vote counts and matters is the most important issue facing legislatures all across America.

Arizona is leading the way to protect our elections.

Election Integrity is the MOST important issue facing our nation

Here were my Election Integrity bills in 2021 that were signed into law:

✅ Banned private funding of elections (Zuckerberg money)

✅ Banned mass mailing of ballots (like the radical leftist Maricopa County Recorder tried to do) AND added a Class 5 felony for any rogue County Recorder that violates this law

✅ Banned modifying statutorily prescribed elections law (like radical leftist Katie Hobbs did) AND added a Class 6 felony for any rogue official that violates this law

✅ Only state in the country to formally OPPOSE Washington DC Democrats’ attempt to take over and rig America’s elections

✅ Established the Election Integrity Fund with an initial $12M appropriation intended to pay for election security, election cybersecurity, and the hand tabulation of votes (ie no machines)

Here were a couple other Election Integrity bills from my colleagues in 2021 that were also signed into law:

✅ Mandate that the Secretary of State REMOVE DEAD VOTERS from the voter rolls (Rep. Kaiser’s bill)

✅ Clean up the Early Voter List to ensure that those who refuse to vote are removed after a reasonable amount of time (Sen. Ugenti-Rita’s bill)

There were many other important Election Integrity reforms in 2021 from many of my colleagues as well. The list above is by no means exhaustive.

Arizona takes this issue seriously and will continue to fight for the security and integrity of our elections in 2022!

Tucson Threatens to Fire First Responders That Refuse COVID-19 Vaccine

State Representative Jake Hoffman (R-Queen Creek) told AZ Free News that this mandate was a politicized move that threatens public safety. The representative assured that the state legislature would mete out proper justice if Tucson doesn’t retract its mandate.

“Tucson has gone full communist with its latest threat to fire employees who make the individual choice to hold off on taking the COVID vaccine at this time,” stated Hoffman. “The fact that Tucson’s partisan politics would sacrifice public safety to promote an unlawful, anti-science, forced vaccination policy is a bridge too far. If the far-left politicians in Tucson refuse to follow the law, the legislature will have no choice but to address their lawlessness come January.”

Demand for School Vouchers to Leave Arizona Schools That Mandate Masks or Require Unvaccinated Students to Quarantine Exceeds Funds

Just three weeks after Gov. Doug Ducey announced that school districts issuing mask mandates or requiring vaccinated students to quarantine would be penalized by diverting money to students to use as school vouchers to attend elsewhere, demand has exceeded the millions he allotted by twice the amount.

“It shouldn’t come as a shock that Arizona parents and students are fleeing school districts that have chosen to politicize the educational environment with anti-science mask mandates and COVID virtue signaling,” Rep. Jake Hoffman (R-Queen Creek), who spearheaded the letter, told The Arizona Sun Times.

“The Governor took the first right step by implementing the temporary ESA program when called upon to do so by the legislature; however, he has plenty of money at his disposal,” Hoffman said. “Not one Arizona student should be denied the opportunity to escape the unlawful mandates being imposed by rogue school districts across our state. Every child deserves the highest quality education possible, free from the poisonous politics of power hungry bureaucrats and union bosses who seek to exploit students for their own partisan gain. The governor should make sure that every child that wants a temporary ESA gets one.”
