Make sure the hearing is high profile and make sure he says that they are a few months away from having the bomb. Make sure he brings scary looking pictures of shiny metallic machines.

Plaster his face across legacy print properties like Time Magazine and The New York Times in glorious puff pieces. If he’s a halfway decent looking scientist, that’s even better.
