The best data that I can find indicates that approximately 0.7 out of 100 Americans is prescribed Adderall or its generic equivalents.

Stimulants were prescribed far more in the 1980’s.

That, along with higher rates of smoking, likely contributed to the country being far less fat even though the popularity of sugary processed foods was much higher.
