Most of the political commentators you listen to are ignorant of this fact, or refuse to recognize it.
The Bradley Fighting Vehicles are outdated, under-maintained pieces of junk. Sending them to Ukraine makes more sense than selling them for pennies in GSA auctions.
The Patriot missile defense systems being sent to Ukraine aren’t set to arrive until at least April. They’ll be quickly overwhelmed and destroyed by Russia. This will be used by Raytheon to lobby for an open ended cost-plus contract to develop a replacement for the Patriot.
Trump and DeSantis both heavily pushed the COVID-19 vaccines.
The only difference is that DeSantis managed to later send symbolic signals of affirmation to the anti-vax wing of the party, whereas Trump still claims that he “saved 100 million lives” by rushing the vaccines to market.
