Celebrities tend to be completely nuts at a much higher rate than the average person. Fame, and its second order consequences, can cause temporary and sometimes permanent mental illness.
And the substance abuse that is so common in Hollywood, while able to patch the pain temporarily, ultimately makes maters much worse.
It’s a blessing when these people have someone who takes the time to get them in the gym and help them regain their mental and physical health. For Kanye West and many others, Harley Pasternak was one of that person.
Call them “handlers” if you like—but the truth is that some people need handlers. Don’t be so certain that if you ever had occasion to become spectacularly famous, that you wouldn’t be one of those people.

Business world is 80% all the annoying management stuff. 20% is the product/art. This is only more apparent. Alot of these artists are horrible at the non art management stuff. This is only more apparent.
Kanye West is the least censored high profile fan of Adolf Hitler in the known universe. And he’s worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
So when I see people who are far less famous, far less rich, and in most cases, far more censored, than Kanye West, spending their time advocating for “Ye’s Free Speech!”, I just think to myself: “I sure hope they are being well paid.”
