With 1 hour a day, seven days per week training, you can gain a serviceable handle on most foreign languages in 4 months.

This isn't to say that you can become a maestro without torturous amounts of work, but it is good to remind yourself that many skills which might be quite useful to you are in fact low hanging fruit.
