The Dutch were a Confederation & Republic led by William of Orange. After this war, and a few more, he ended up becoming King of England and ensured (at least then) that the English Crown was subservient to Parliament, which was chosen by the people. Oh how they had right in England for a short time.
Kings & Nobles would have considered him the original Orange Man Bad!
