What's interesting about Africa rn is that many places do be building skyscrapers and shit. Normally while being poor as fuck, there is such an uneven distribution of wealth, on one side of the country you'd have some nigger studying robotics, on the other a nigger dying from hunger. And this stuff is pretty common for example in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Congo, etc. But what's interesting is that these high wealth areas do tend to increase national GDP and do have a certain, if not minimal global influence thanks to trade

English has become such a world wide language because of Hollywood and the Internet. Linguistically it's just people not wanting to be shunned from 50%+ of popular culture. I do agree with you though that it is disingenuous to credit it to America just because both were created here.
