Tesla had declining health in his last years. He was old. His cognitive health declined, his mental state deteriorated, he had Alzheimer's and severe OCD. As all old people he was stuck in the past and refused to acknowledge newer models of physics. His latest ideas were all nothingburgers. His papers were yoinked by the FBI anyway just in case he made something cool, such as his death ray he was yapping about (never installed on any USA warship because it was a nothingburger) and because it was WW2. There is totally an empathy gap between us and old people. We struggle to put ourselves in their shoes. They literally crumble to pieces
