You aren't wrong, but the difference was intent. Beebo wasn't some self indulgent leech who dragged everyone down. He was a man trying to do his best in a world that hated him and he had a momentary lapse. This wasn't some grand plan of his, for a single moment an intrusive thought completely enveloped him in a moment of despair and his response was to do something glorious. I wish he had lived and probably would have put money on his books in jail, but considering how far he'd gone I'd be afraid of doing twenty years in prison and putting my family in generational debt for a knee jerk decision.
