❇️ Important Sections of RBI Act 1934 ❇️
There are total 61 Sections in the RBI Act 1934.
👉🏻Important Sections in the RBI Act 1934
Section 3: Establishment and incorporation of Reserve Bank.
Section 4: Capital of the Bank. The capital of the Bank shall be five crores of rupees.
Section 6: Establishment of Offices, branches and agencies
Section 8: The composition of central board of Reserve Bank of India
Section 17: The business that RBI can carry out
Section 20: Obligation of the Bank to transact Government business.
Section 21: Bank to have the right to transact Government business in India.
Section 21A: Bank to transact Government business of States on agreement.
Section 22: Right to issue bank notes.
Section 24: Denominations of notes. (1) Subject to the provisions of sub-section (2), bank notes shall be of the denominational values of two rupees, five rupees, ten rupees, twenty rupees, fifty rupees, one hundred rupees, five hundred rupees, one thousand rupees, five thousand rupees and ten thousand rupees or of such other denominational values, not exceeding ten thousand rupees.
Section 27: Re-issue of notes. The Bank shall not re-issue bank notes which are torn, defaced or excessively soiled.
Section 26 (1): Defines legal tender of notes
Section 26(2): Withdrawal of legal tender of notes
Section 42: Cash reserves of scheduled banks to be kept with the Bank.
Section 45(U): Defines repo, reverse repo, derivative, money market instruments and securities.
The first schedule of the RBI Act 1934 defines the 4 areas under which the Indian states should come. The 4 areas are Western Area, Eastern Area, Northern Area, Southern Area
The second schedule of the Act lists all the SCHEDULED BANKS in India.

Online Applications are invited for Ph.D. Admission (Full-Time and Part-Time) - July 2021 Session, University of Madras, Chennai-600005, Tamil Nadu
General Instructions:
1. Pattern of Study 10+2+3+2 (or) 11+1+3+2 are eligible for admission to do Ph.D. Programme.
2. Indian Candidates should have obtained a Master’s Degree with 55% marks in the qualifying examination (PG Degree). For SC/ST candidates and for candidates who have completed the PG degree before 1991, the minimum can be 50% for admission to the Ph.D. Programme.
3. According to the Government Order, the M.Phil Degree obtained by the candidates through the correspondence / Distance Education / Open University System prior to 3rd April 2009 i.e. the date of the Government order only will be considered as eligible and the M.Phil degree obtained through the Correspondence / Distance Education / Open University System after 3rd April 2009 are not eligible.
4. Regular(Permanent) teachers of affiliated college with two years of continuous teaching experience after P.G. degree are eligible to register for Ph.D. (Part-time) Programme.
5. PG Assistants of Higher Secondary School and Teachers of Polytechnic (Permanent) with four years of continuous teaching experience after the qualifying (PG) degree are eligible to register for Ph.D. (Part-Time) Programme.
6. Full-Time Guest lecturers with four years of teaching experience in the same institution are eligible to register for Ph.D Part-time Programme.
7. Applicants who wish to do Part-Time Ph.D. programme, employed other than as a teacher in a permanent job in a registered Firm/Institution, within the territorial jurisdiction of the University with a minimum of FOUR YEARS of total working experience, after the qualifying (PG) degree and satisfying the rules framed separately by the Syndicate from time to time, are eligible to register for Ph.D. (Part-Time) programme.
8. Supervisor shall not be permitted to register candidates for Ph.D. in the last two years of his /her service.
9. Retired teachers are not permitted to guide under any capacity or positions like Emeritus Professors, Guest Faculty, Visiting Faculty etc.
10. Research Supervisor should be employed in the Madras University Departments (OR) Colleges / Research Institutions affiliated to the University of Madras.
11. The online application designed for the July 2021 session alone will be accepted and other applications will not be considered for admission under any circumstances.
12. Candidates are informed to submit the Hard copy of the on-line Application form to the respective University Departments / Affiliated Colleges / Research Institutions where the candidates proposes to do their research work on or before 05.08.2021.
13. Candidates should secure at least 25 marks out of 50 marks in the entrance test (Written and Oral).
14. The entrance test which will be conducted by the respective Departments/Affiliated Colleges / Institutions should carry a maximum of 50 marks as detailed below:
* Written examinations 35 marks and (b) Oral examination 15 marks. The Syllabus of the Entrance Test should consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% of specific field of research. The candidates should secure at least 25 marks out of 50 marks in the entrance test (Written and Oral).
* Provided that a relaxation of 5% of marks (from 50% to 45%) shall be allowed for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Differently-abled category in the entrance test examination conducted by the Universities.
15. Meeting of the Departmental Selection Committee should be convened within the stipulated time (i.e. 06.08.2021 to 05.09.2021) and the minutes of the meeting and application along with the enclosures should be sent to the University on or before 05.09.2021.
16. The Departmental Selection Committee should be constituted by the Head of the Department with all the recognized guides in the department with the proposed guide as convener (a minimum of three members should be in the committee).

If only one guide is available in any department, such department should constitute the above committee with the guides available from within the School or from related departments.
