The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will release a commemorative coin of ₹100 on Septemb er 13, 2025.
The coin will be dedicated to the birth centenary of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, the great singer, poet and cultural icon of Assam.
Events in Guwahati
The coin will be unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Venue: Veterinary College Ground at Khanapara.
Year-long centenary celebrations
Duration: 8 September 2025 to 8 September 2026.
Events: In New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
Born: 1926
Honour: Bharat Ratna (2019, posthumously)

Red Panda is placed in the IUCN Red List (endangered species).
Its main food is bamboo leaves.
