I have to admit it bothers me that the Rededicate 250 had the giant phallus of Osiris, the Sun god, as its backdrop.

There is one other place in the world people worship around an Egyptian Obelisk (phallus): the Vatican. Did you know when Pope Sixtus V commissioned to have it moved from Egypt, that should the movers let if fall and it should break, all the workers would be put to death?

Why is this pagan symbol so important to Rome? Why do we have one in the US, complete with our own version of St. Peters Basilica (The Capitol Building)?
