☕ HIGH ALERT WEEK: ISRAEL ENTERS A SENSITIVE PERIOD AS REGIONAL DEFENSE POSTURE TIGHTENS
Tonight, Israel is operating under a tightened security posture — cabinet deliberations, assessed Iran scenarios, completed Israeli and U.S. defensive deployments, and a region-wide air, naval, and missile defense buildup. Add sensitive-period aviation warnings, shifting airline policies, and ongoing multi-arena activity from Gaza to the north — and this is exactly the kind of moment where real-time, verified updates matter, because rumors move faster than facts and small signals can have real-world consequences.
Israel Realtime runs on vigilance: late nights, constant verification, and staying calm and accurate even when the region isn’t. 🛡️ ISRAEL REALTIME — STRATEGIC CONTEXT
Despite widespread assumptions, a major Israel–Iran war is unlikely to begin with a direct Iranian strike — or even inside Iran itself.
If escalation occurs, it is far more likely to unfold through Iran’s regional proxy system, designed to distribute risk and avoid a direct, regime-threatening confrontation. In that system, Israel is not a peripheral actor — it is the forward pressure point where escalation is most likely to surface first.
Iran has little incentive to strike Israel directly. Israel’s layered missile-defense network — Arrow, THAAD, Patriot, and emerging laser systems — makes a first Iranian strike both costly and strategically counterproductive. Such an attack would invite overwhelming retaliation while doing little to advance Tehran’s core objective: regime survival.
At the same time, Israel also has strong reasons to avoid striking Iran directly.
A direct Israeli attack would hand Tehran a powerful narrative tool — allowing it to redirect internal unrest outward, unify the population, and suppress dissent under wartime conditions. For now, both sides are deliberately avoiding that trigger.
This creates a dangerous stalemate — centered on Hezbollah. Hezbollah is not merely another proxy; it is Iran’s primary deterrent against Israel. Tehran has warned that a full Israeli offensive against Hezbollah could trigger Iranian entry into the conflict, effectively placing Israel in a strategic bind.
Meanwhile, U.S. military posture suggests rising pressure on Iran itself. Expanded missile-defense deployments, regional force movements, and energy-market buffering point to serious contingency planning. If the U.S. were to strike Iran, Hezbollah would likely escalate immediately rather than risk being cut off from Iranian support.
This leads to the most likely opening scenario: Israel does not wait to absorb a massive Hezbollah barrage — but instead preempts, launching a large-scale strike against Hezbollah’s infrastructure in Lebanon, potentially in close coordination with U.S. action against Iran.
In this model, the war does not “start” in Tehran. It begins with system activation:
- Israel moving first against Hezbollah
- The United States applying direct pressure on Iran
- Iran responding through proxies designed to raise costs without direct attribution
The danger is not a single strike — but momentum. Once multiple fronts activate, escalation can outrun political control and narrative management. The most dangerous moment is when all sides believe escalation is still contained.
Bottom line: If war comes, it is far more likely to begin with Israel acting first — not against Iran itself, but against Iran’s proxies — because waiting may be the riskier option.

💥 IDF STRIKES HEZBOLLAH INFRASTRUCTURE AND ELIMINATES SENIOR ARTILLERY COMMANDER IN LEBANON AS IRAN-ALIGNED MILITIAS CALL FOR WAR AND U.S.–ISRAEL COORDINATE IRAN RESPONSE
🕑 January 26, 2026 | 12:00 AM
❌ LEBANON | IDF OPERATIONS: In response to Hezbollah’s repeated violations of the ceasefire understandings, the IDF is striking Hezbollah terror infrastructure sites in several areas in Lebanon. The Israeli Air Force is reportedly carrying out attacks with bunker-busting bombs in southern Lebanon.
The IDF says it eliminated Muhammad al-Husseini in a strike in the Bazouriye area in southern Lebanon, near Tyre. According to the military, al-Husseini was the chief of Hezbollah’s artillery forces in the village of Arzoun.
"At the same time as his activity in the Hezbollah terror organization, the terrorist worked as a teacher at a Lebanese school in the village," the army says.
The IDF states that al-Husseini advanced numerous attacks on Israel during the war and recently attempted to restore Hezbollah’s rocket capabilities in southern Lebanon.
In a separate strike, the IDF says it hit a Hezbollah weapons manufacturing site in the southern Lebanese village of Bir el-Sanasel, eliminating one operative identified as Jawad Basma.
⚠️ IRAN | U.S.-ISRAEL COORDINATION: With Israel’s assistance, the United States is preparing a list of individuals who gave the orders and oversaw the handling of protesters in Iran. A special department has reportedly been established in the U.S. to identify and locate those involved.
🤝 U.S.-ISRAEL DIPLOMATIC CONTACTS: A senior Israeli official expressed frustration with U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff, saying: "He is pushing for a non-military solution with Iran despite the evidence of mass murder in the country".
An informed American source said that during talks between Witkoff and Kushner with Prime Minister Netanyahu, there were friendly disagreements on various issues, but there was no disagreement regarding Iran.
⚠️ IRAN-ALIGNED MILITIAS | WAR CALLS: The general secretary of the Iraqi militia Kata'ib Hezbollah has called on fighters to be prepared to "join the war to defend Iran". The group stated that “martyrdom operations” are now a possibility and framed a potential conflict as a “holy war”.
In its statement, Kata'ib Hezbollah called for a “comprehensive war” in defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The group urged “mujahideen in all corners of the earth” to prepare for military action and warned of severe consequences for its enemies if Iran is attacked.
The statement explicitly referenced the possibility of escalation, including “martyrdom operations,” should senior religious authorities formally declare a holy war. Lebanese Hezbollah has also called on its fighters to be prepared to defend Iran.

🔰 ISRAEL LINKS IRAN’S TOP LEADERSHIP TO PROTEST CRACKDOWN AS IDF STRIKES HEZBOLLAH, SETS RAFah CONDITIONS TIED TO HOSTAGES, AND ADVANCES FORCE READINESS
🕑 January 26, 2026 | 9:00 AM
⚖️ REPORT: ISRAELI INTELLIGENCE LINKS IRAN’S SUPREME LEADERSHIP TO PROTEST REPRESSION: Reports claim Israeli intelligence has provided the United States with lists of Iranian regime figures linked to the suppression of protests, including senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officers and figures up to Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The reporting describes the material as identifying specific officials tied to decisions and actions taken against demonstrators.
According to the reports, American officials are compiling a list of regime figures involved in the crackdown, covering both those who issued orders and those who carried them out on the ground. The list is said to begin with Khamenei, his office, and members of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, formally linking senior leadership decisions to actions on the ground.
The New York Times cited Iranian officials who said Khamenei ordered the Supreme National Security Council on January 9 to suppress protests by “any means necessary.” According to those officials, security forces were deployed with “orders to shoot to kill and show no mercy,” after which the death toll surged. Documenting named officials connected to such directives is commonly used by governments to establish attribution and personal responsibility, forming the basis for accountability measures such as sanctions, legal action, diplomatic pressure, or other enforcement and contingency options over time.
🎗️ RAFAH CROSSING AND HOSTAGE CONDITIONS: The Prime Minister’s Office said that under President Trump’s 20-point plan, Israel has agreed to open the Rafah Crossing for limited entry of people only, under full Israeli supervision. The opening is conditioned on the return of all living hostages and on Hamas making a 100% effort to locate and return all fallen hostages.
The statement said the IDF is currently conducting a focused operation to exhaust all available intelligence in an effort to locate and recover the body of the fallen hostage, Staff Sergeant Ran Gvili z”l. Once the operation concludes, and in accordance with the agreement with the United States, Israel will open the Rafah Crossing.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, once the operation ends, even if it ends in failure, Israel will acknowledge that Hamas has made a certain degree of effort since then and will open the crossing in any case. The statement added that Israel is committed to bringing home Staff Sergeant Ran Gvili z”l and will spare no effort to ensure his burial in Israel.
💥 IDF STRIKES HEZBOLLAH INFRASTRUCTURE IN LEBANON: The IDF said it struck Hezbollah terror infrastructure sites in several areas across Lebanon, including weapon storage facilities and additional military infrastructure. It also said it struck a military structure inside a base used by Hezbollah’s Radwan Force to advance terror attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel.
⚔️ SYRIAN OFFICIAL REJECTS ANY TERRITORIAL CONCESSIONS TO ISRAEL: Muhammad al-Ahmad, Director of Arab Affairs at the Syrian Foreign Ministry, said: "We will not agree with Israel to hand over a single inch of Syrian territory. We remain committed to every inch of Syria, and we will reclaim every inch of Syrian territory to be placed under the administration of the Syrian state".
In a separate statement, al-Ahmad said: "The foreign affairs official in the Autonomous Administration can be questioned for appealing to the Israeli enemy to intervene and resolve the issue of the PKK. To date, no agreement has been reached with the Israeli enemy, but there are leaders who claim to be democratic and national who are calling on the Israeli enemy to intervene".

🛡️ IDF RULES OUT TERROR IN MOUNT EBAL GUNFIRE INCIDENT AS INVESTIGATION FINDS PALESTINIAN FORCES SHOT ISRAELI BY MISTAKE; REVEALS $119M IN LDS-LINKED FUNDING TO HAMAS-AFFILIATED NETWORKS
🕑 January 26, 2026 | 3:00 PM
🆘 INCIDENT NEAR MOUNT EBAL | IDF CLARIFICATIONA: report was received regarding gunfire near the Mount Ebal area toward an Israeli vehicle. No injuries were reported. IDF soldiers are at the scene.
Following an initial review at the scene, the IDF says the incident was likely not a terrorist attack. The review indicates Palestinian Security Forces present at the scene responded with fire toward an Israeli civilian who had mistakenly entered Nablus, bypassed a Palestinian checkpoint in Area A, and while exiting, accelerated near the checkpoint.
Once the incident became known, the coordination and liaison mechanisms between the Israeli security establishment and the Palestinian mechanisms were immediately activated to clarify the circumstances. The incident is being reviewed through ongoing dialogue between the parties.
The IDF reiterates that entry into Area A is prohibited and dangerous for Israeli civilians.
🪖 SENIOR IDF APPOINTMENT ON HAREDI AFFAIRS: The IDF announced that Col. Avinoam Emunah, the outgoing and first commander of the Hasmonean Brigade for Haredi troops, will be appointed as adviser to the chief of staff on ultra-Orthodox affairs. The military said Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir spoke with Emunah and agreed he will continue serving in the IDF in the new role, and that Emunah is expected to be promoted to brigadier general upon entering the position.
💱 FUNDING FLOWS UNDER SCRUTINY
A Middle East Forum investigation reports that major Mormon-affiliated charities have become primary benefactors for several high-profile Islamist organizations. The report says Globus Relief, a Salt Lake City nonprofit, channeled more than $119 million to ten radical groups, including Islamic Relief.
The investigation notes U.S. State Department warnings regarding anti-Semitism and the glorification of violence within Islamic Relief’s leadership. Despite those warnings, the report says Islamic Relief remains Globus Relief’s top grantee, receiving $64 million.
The report describes deep financial ties between these Mormon entities and organizations linked to Hamas and other extremist movements. It cites Human Appeal, Muslim Aid, and Baitulmaal as recipients of millions in grants, including groups described as having funded Hamas front operations or being led by former Taliban fundraisers.
The investigation says Lifting Hands International provided $19.5 million to the chief U.S. arm of Jamaat-e-Islami, a movement it associates with South Asian terrorism and public support for Hamas’s "Jihad."
LDS Charities, operating under the church’s tax-exempt status, is cited as a major donor to Medglobal and Rahma Worldwide. The report says these groups are active in Gaza and Syria and often work in coordination with Hamas authorities and individuals who have publicly praised the October 7 attacks.
Beyond financial aid, the analysis points to growing institutional alliances between Mormon leadership and Islamist advocates in the United States. This includes public collaborations with figures linked to the Iranian regime and Turkey’s Diyanet Center.
While the LDS Church frames these relationships as interfaith outreach, the investigation argues the partnerships have inadvertently empowered organizations it describes as ideologically committed to the destruction of Israel and the spread of extremist Islamism.

🎗️ IDF RECOVERS BODY OF MASTER SGT. RAN GVILI IN EASTERN GAZA CEMETERY AFTER ARMORED SEARCH AND TUNNEL PROBES AS NETANYAHU SAYS NEXT PHASE IS HAMAS DISARMAMENT AND GAZA DEMILITARIZATION
🕑 January 26, 2026 | 4:45 PM
🎗️ RECOVERY OPERATION IN EASTERN GAZA CITY: IDF soldiers were filmed singing “Ani Ma’amin” at the cemetery in eastern Gaza City where the body of Master Sgt. Ran Gvili was located and identified.
In recent days, forces from the Alexandroni Reserve Brigade, together with engineering units and the Military Rabbinate, searched the cemetery east of the yellow line for Gvili. Two hours ago, after examining 250 bodies, including some in mass graves, a dental match was identified.
Because the cemetery is beyond the yellow line, the forces reached the area with armored vehicles and tanks. Until the body was found, the assessment was that he was either in a tunnel or in a cemetery. In the past two weeks, they also searched a possible tunnel and drilled into it so as not to rule out any possibility. “This is the result of pressure exerted on Hamas and determination.” After 4,208 days there are no hostages in Gaza.
🎗️ COMMANDER AND IDF LEADERSHIP STATEMENTS: “Closing a circle for an entire nation – but the mission is not over.” The commander of the Alexandroni Reconnaissance Unit, Lt. Col. M, announced to his soldiers over the radio the success of the operation.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir spoke by phone with the family after the recovery. "We are all deeply moved, embracing you, and thanking all the IDF soldiers who worked on this mission. I am very glad that we are bringing you this news, which brings a great deal of relief," Zamir says. “We have completed the mission of returning all the hostages, both the living and the fallen, and upheld the very significant IDF value of leaving no one behind," he says.
🎗️ FAMILY AND POLICE RESPONSE: Talik Gvili, the slain police officer's mother, says that the news is "a relief, after these two and a half years, even though we hoped for a different ending.” Please tell all the soldiers and teams who worked there that they’re world champions.”
🪖 Police Commissioner to the Gwaeili family: “Ran was found whole, with his uniform. You’re getting your son back just as he left.”
⚠️ NETANYAHU ON NEXT STAGE IN GAZA: Netanyahu in the Knesset: “The next stage is the disarmament of Hamas and the demilitarization of Gaza — not its reconstruction. We have an interest in advancing this stage, not delaying it.”

🛡️ U.S. DEPLOYS DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS AND SIGNALS POSSIBLE ACTION ON IRAN AS IDF CONTINUES TARGETED STRIKES AGAINST HEZBOLLAH IN SOUTHERN LEBANON AND REGIONAL ALERTS EXPAND
🕑 January 27, 2026 | 12:20 AM
🛡️ U.S. military posture: U.S. officials told the Wall Street Journal: "Washington has transferred defensive systems to the Middle East to protect its allies and facilities from potential Iranian counterattacks."
⚠️ Regional assessments: The Gulf states believe the U.S. will in the coming days launch a major strike against Iran, according to The Economist. They are concerned that Iranian political leadership could be directly targeted, raising fears the region could be pulled into broader chaos.
🇮🇱 Israel domestic schedule Channel 12 reported: "Without providing an explanation: The judges decided to shorten Netanyahu's trial session tomorrow, and it will only last until 1pm, local time." Netanyahu is also scheduled to meet Knesset Opposition Leader Yair Lapid tomorrow to brief him on the regional security situation.
⚔️ Iran–U.S. contacts: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff are exchanging messages on an “informal” basis, the Iranian Students News Agency reported, as rights groups confirm more deaths in the recent uprising against the Islamic Republic. Iran’s Ambassador to Geneva, Ali Bahreini, said the sides are in contact but “do not currently have a fixed channel of communication,” adding, “It can hardly be called a negotiation.” A number of countries have offered to mediate between the U.S. and Iran amid escalating tensions.
⚠️ U.S. statements: U.S. President Trump said Iran wants a deal as a U.S. “armada” arrives, Axios reported. i24 News reported Trump is considering a naval blockade on Iran.
🚧 UK UPDATES IRAQ TRAVEL ADVISORY: The UK Foreign Office has updated its Iraq travel guidance, advising British citizens not to travel to Baghdad or to areas within five kilometers of Iraq’s borders with Iran, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia due to heightened security risks and regional tensions. The guidance was updated on January 26, 2026, maintaining broad restrictions while refining specific high-risk zones.
✈️ EASA ADVISES AIRLINES NOT TO ENTER IRANIAN AIRSPACE: The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has issued a new Conflict Zone Information Bulletin advising operators not to enter Iranian airspace at any level. EASA says recent events have likely placed air defense systems in a heightened state of alert, increasing the risk of misidentification inside the OIIX/Tehran FIR.
EASA warns that if the situation continues to escalate, additional risks may emerge in neighboring countries where U.S. military interests are present. The guidance is not binding, but the recommendation is to avoid Iranian airspace entirely.
🎯 IDF ELIMINATES HEZBOLLAH OPERATIVES IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: The IDF says it struck a Hezbollah terrorist in the Nabatieh area in southern Lebanon in response to repeated violations of ceasefire understandings. The military says Israeli airstrikes continue nightly against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon to secure Israel’s northern front.
Earlier, the IDF says an Israeli strike in the coastal Lebanese city of Tyre eliminated a Hezbollah artillery commander, identified as Ali Nour a-Din. According to the IDF, he headed an artillery team based out of a village in southern Lebanon, advanced numerous attacks on Israel during the war, and recently worked to restore Hezbollah’s rocket capabilities in southern Lebanon.

☕ HIGH ALERT WEEK: ISRAEL ENTERS A SENSITIVE PERIOD AS REGIONAL DEFENSE POSTURE TIGHTENS
Tonight, Israel is operating under a tightened security posture — cabinet deliberations, assessed Iran scenarios, completed Israeli and U.S. defensive deployments, and a region-wide air, naval, and missile defense buildup. ⚠️ HEZBOLLAH THREATENS RESPONSE IF IRAN IS HIT AS LEBANON BLOCKS NEW FRONT, U.S. WEIGHS PRECISION STRIKES ON IRANIAN LEADERSHIP, AND IRAN WARNS AMERICAN CARRIERS ARE TARGETS
🕑 January 27, 2026 | 7:30 AM
🗣️ Hezbollah warns it will respond if Iran is targeted: Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem said threats to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei are considered a threat to Hezbollah as well. He said Hezbollah is not neutral toward any aggression against Iran and warned that a war against Iran could ignite the region, adding the group is ready to defend and will choose how to respond.
🗯️ Lebanese presidency rejects Hezbollah escalation from Lebanon: Lebanese sources told Al-Hadath that President Joseph Aoun is furious over Qassem’s remarks. The sources said Qassem’s implied threat to open a front from Lebanon is an overstep of Lebanese state authority and that Aoun will not allow Lebanon to be dragged into others’ wars.
⚠️ Netanyahu cites parallel threats from Iranian-Shiite and Muslim Brotherhood-led axes: Prime Minister Netanyahu said Israel is confronting the Iranian-Shiite axis, while also facing another extremist Sunni axis led by the Muslim Brotherhood.
🎯 U.S. considers precision strikes on senior Iranian officials: The United States is considering targeted strikes against senior Iranian officials and commanders blamed for the deaths of protesters. The strikes could come as soon as this week, though the timing remains uncertain amid internal debate described as chaotic, and some Gulf officials privately assess that a major U.S. strike is likely, potentially aimed at Iran’s political leadership under President Trump.
❗️ U.S. outlines terms for any diplomatic deal: U.S. officials said any agreement under consideration would require Iran to eliminate its stockpile of enriched uranium, sharply limit long-range missiles, end support for regional proxy groups, and halt all domestic uranium enrichment.
‼️ Iranian official warns U.S. carriers would be targets, not deterrents: A senior Iranian military official from the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters told IRIB that the presence of American aircraft carriers in the region has been exaggerated and would make them targets. He said Iran is monitoring movements that could threaten national security, warned that even preliminary threats would not be tolerated, and said any surprise scenario would spiral out of control from the outset.
⚔️ Iran cites strike capabilities and Yemen-linked risk to U.S. assets: The official said Iran can launch anti-ship and surface-to-surface missiles and large numbers of drones toward the USS Lincoln off Oman, and warned there is also a risk of missiles being launched from Yemen. He referenced the U.S. campaign against Ansarullah in Yemen lasting about seven weeks, with seven MQ-9 Reaper drones and two F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jets lost before ending in a ceasefire agreement.
🛫 U.S. carries out deportation flight to Iran amid protest-linked scrutiny: The Trump administration carried out its first known deportation flight to Iran since protests began there, sending 14 Iranians back on Sunday. Dozens of others were removed from the flight due to possible measles exposure, and a lawyer representing two gay men said they would face grave danger if returned to Iran, including risk of execution, but they were not included on the flight because of the measles issue.

🛡️ ISRAEL SIGNS NIS 570 MILLION MULTI-YEAR ELBIT AERIAL MUNITIONS DEAL TO STRENGTHEN IDF READINESS
🕑 January 27, 2026 | 12:30 PM
🛡️ Israel’s Ministry of Defense has signed a $183 million (NIS 570 million) multi-year procurement agreement with Elbit Systems for aerial munitions, aimed at strengthening IDF operational readiness.
The ministry said the agreement will expand Israel’s defense industrial base and reinforce the IDF’s capabilities for both the immediate term and the “challenging security decade ahead.”
The procurement is part of a broader Ministry of Defense strategy led by Defense Minister Israel Katz and signed by Director General Maj. Gen. (res.) Amir Baram, focused on ensuring supply continuity, sustained readiness, and long-term defense independence.
Senior defense officials and Elbit Systems noted that the agreement reflects lessons learned from prolonged multi-front warfare, underscoring the central role of Israel’s defense industries in maintaining air, sea, and ground operational superiority.
The expanded production framework is intended to replenish munitions stockpiles, support future force buildup, improve readiness for an extended high-threat period, strengthen the Israeli economy, and enable continued development of precision munitions already proven in operational use.

🕯️ HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE DAY — CARING FOR SURVIVORS TODAY
An estimated 28,000 Holocaust survivors in Israel are living in poverty. Many are elderly and frail, facing daily hardship and isolation.
Cold apartments worsen illness, increase the risk of falls, and deepen loneliness.
Some survivors ration heating. Others skip meals or medication to cover basic utility costs.
At Meir Panim, more than 2,200 Holocaust survivors are supported every day — receiving warm meals, essential supplies, regular check-ins, and human care.
They survived the unimaginable. They should not face their later years alone, cold, or forgotten.
🕯️ On this Holocaust Remembrance Day, honoring memory also means acting with responsibility and compassion.

❌ IDF ELIMINATES HEZBOLLAH OPERATIVES IN SOUTHERN LEBANON AS GAZA TRANSITIONS TOWARD PHASE TWO, HAMAS SEEKS TO RECAST POLICING ROLE, AND U.S.–REGIONAL MILITARIES SIGNAL HEIGHTENED IRAN PREPAREDNESS
🕑 January 27, 2026 | 4:30 PM
❌ IDF OPERATIONS IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: The IDF said it struck and eliminated Hezbollah terrorists operating at an underground site belonging to Hezbollah in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon. The IDF also said it struck a Hezbollah operative this morning in the southern Lebanon town of Deir Qanoun.
〽️ GAZA AGREEMENT AND RAFAH CROSSING: Gazan sources reported that with the last Israeli hostage now returned to Israel, the transition to phase two of the agreement is effectively unavoidable. The reopening of the Rafah Crossing is being framed as humanitarian relief and described as a major political pressure point, with the decisive factor potentially being whether the "authority" controlling Gaza allows large-scale civilian movement toward Egypt or restricts exits.
〽️ HAMAS POLICE IN A NEW GAZA ADMINISTRATION: Hamas is seeking to incorporate its 10,000 police officers into a new Palestinian administration for Gaza, according to a letter by Gaza’s Hamas-run government seen by Reuters. The report notes the new Gaza police force would be responsible for disarming Hamas and dismantling its tunnel system.
🇮🇱 NETANYAHU TESTIMONY AND SCHEDULE CHANGES: Prime Minister Netanyahu’s testimony scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled, with no reason given. Today's request to cancel the testimony was tied to Netanyahu’s attendance at the funeral of Ran Gvili, may he rest in peace, and earlier Netanyahu canceled a security briefing meeting with Opposition Leader Yair Lapid that had been scheduled for this evening, citing “scheduling constraints.”
🛫 U.S. AIR ACTIVITY AND CENTCOM EXERCISE: Initial indications pointed to U.S. aerial refueling tankers departing Florida and later operating north over Puerto Rico.
⚠️ Also, the U.S. military announced the start of a large-scale air exercise within CENTCOM’s area of responsibility in the Middle East, against the backdrop of preparations for the possibility of an attack on Iran.
⚠️ TURKEY PREPARES FOR IRAN SCENARIOS: Turkish officials said Turkey is considering establishing a buffer zone along the border with Iran to prevent a potential influx of migrants in the event of an Iranian government collapse. Officials described the move as part of worst-case preparations and said recent protests in Iran left about 4,000 dead and 20,000 wounded.

⏰ DOOMSDAY CLOCK MOVED TO 85 SECONDS TO MIDNIGHT AS SCIENTISTS WARN OF ESCALATING GLOBAL RISKS AND REGIONAL INSTABILITY
🕑 January 27, 2026 | 6:00 PM
⏰ DOOMSDAY CLOCK MOVED CLOSER TO MIDNIGHT: The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists announced that the Doomsday Clock has been set to 85 seconds to midnight, the closest point in its 79-year history. The clock was moved four seconds closer from last year, reflecting what scientists describe as a failure of global leadership to reduce escalating existential risks.
The Bulletin cited rising nuclear danger, including weakened arms-control frameworks, increasingly aggressive rhetoric by major powers, and heightened risks linked to ongoing wars — including Ukraine and the Middle East. Scientists warned that today’s conflicts operate in a far more interconnected and fragile global system, where miscalculation can escalate faster than in the past.
For the first time, the Bulletin placed strong emphasis on unregulated artificial intelligence, warning that AI is increasingly tied to military command systems and advanced disinformation capabilities, while global oversight remains minimal. Biological threats and insufficient pandemic preparedness were also highlighted as unresolved global vulnerabilities.
The Bulletin stressed that the Doomsday Clock is not a prediction, but a warning about dangers created by human decisions — and therefore risks that can still be reduced.
Context: The clock stood at 17 minutes to midnight in 1991 after the Cold War. It was set to 90 seconds in 2023, 89 seconds in 2025, and now 85 seconds in 2026 — reflecting what scientists describe as an increasingly unstable global security environment.
Why this matters for Israel: Israel operates in a region already marked by high alert levels, multiple active fronts, and unresolved nuclear and proxy threats. In today’s environment, small regional incidents can carry global consequences, decision timelines are shorter, and misinformation spreads faster. The warning underscores how deterrence, clarity, and restraint now matter more than ever — not just locally, but globally.

🛡️ Separately, Israeli Channel 12 reported that additional countries may assist Israel in defense and attack in a scenario of confrontation with Iran, alongside the United States and Britain, stating: “The additional countries that may assist Israel in defense and attack, in addition to the United States and Britain, are Jordan and Azerbaijan, which will come to our aid in a scenario of confrontation with Iran.”

🚨 TERRORIST INFILTRATION ALERT, JUDEA AND SAMARIA ARRESTS, AND REGIONAL IRAN-HEZBOLLAH SIGNALING
🕑 January 27, 2026 | 8:15 PM
🚨 ARAVA / PARAN INFILTRATION ALERT: At 8:14 PM, a terrorist infiltration alert was issued for the Paran area in the Arava, covering the Paran locality near the border with Jordan. IDF forces are responding to reports of a suspected infiltration, and a siren sounded in the community instructing residents to remain inside their homes until further notice.
According to initial, unverified reports, the alert was activated after at least ten suspects were identified infiltrating from Jordan into Israel, with some reportedly arrested unarmed. Details are still being checked.
❌ JUDEA AND SAMARIA COUNTERTERROR OPERATIONS: The IDF said that as part of operations in the Judea Brigade, Duvdevan Unit fighters, guided by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), arrested four weapons dealers. Overnight, IDF forces operating under Shin Bet direction arrested 11 wanted individuals in several villages in the Judea Brigade area, including the four weapons dealers.
During the activity, forces seized a handgun, ammunition, Molotov cocktails, smuggled goods, and thousands of dollars intended for terrorism.
⚠️ LEBANON AND HEZBOLLAH ASSESSMENTS ON IRAN: Lebanese security officials told an Emirati media outlet that even if the United States takes action against Iran, Hezbollah is not expected to intervene immediately. The officials said Hezbollah would only enter the conflict if it concludes that the Trump administration’s objective is to overthrow the Iranian regime.
🔴 IRAN EMERGENCY MEASURES AND REGIONAL SIGNALS: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian ordered emergency steps to keep the country functioning amid fears of new U.S. or Israeli strikes. The measures include handing key powers to provincial governors to bypass red tape, speed up imports of food and basic goods, and keep the government running even if senior officials are targeted.
The IRGC warned that neighboring countries will be considered hostile if their territory is used to launch an attack on Iran. Separately, an Iranian drone was reported flying near the last known location of the U.S. aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln.
▪️ REPORT ON JANUARY 14 U.S. STRIKE CONSIDERATION: Al-Monitor reported that a planned U.S. strike on Iran was considered for the night of January 14 but was ultimately called off. A senior Israeli diplomatic source said the United States had not yet amassed sufficient forces, lacked a coherent operational plan, and did not have a well-defined objective, making the timing ill-advised both operationally and defensively.
The source said there was regret in some Israeli circles that the strike did not take place, but officials reportedly understood the decision to postpone. The source added that an attack at that stage could have encouraged internal unrest in Iran, which was later suppressed with unprecedented cruelty.

🛡️ IDF RULES OUT INFILTRATION AFTER SUSPICIOUS MOVEMENT NEAR PARAN ON JORDANIAN BORDER
🕑 January 27, 2026 | 10:00 PM
🚔 JORDANIAN BORDER INCIDENT: Police say the incident near the community of Paran is under control after two suspects were reported to have entered Israeli territory, prompting the IDF to dispatch forces to the area. Security sources said at least eight apparent Jordanian soldiers were seen pursuing the suspects toward the border before all returned to Jordan.
Police said that “a security incident has been ruled out,” adding that concerns in the Arava desert were dismissed. Reports said the large response was triggered after trucks were identified breaching the border fence, raising initial fears due to the October 7 Simchat Torah massacres.
🪖 IDF STATEMENT The IDF spokesperson confirmed: “Earlier this evening, IDF troops identified approximately ten suspects who approached Israeli territory in a suspicious and rapid manner, in the area of Paran. Numerous IDF troops, including special units and IAF aircraft, were dispatched to the area and conducted searches to locate the suspects. Following extensive searches and a closure of traffic routes in the area, infiltration into Israeli territory was ruled out. The incident has concluded. There is no concern of a security incident.”

🇮🇱 NETANYAHU REAFFIRMS HOSTAGE RETURN, HAMAS DISARMAMENT, IRAN DETERRENCE, AND SECURITY CONTROL FROM THE JORDAN RIVER TO THE SEA
🕑 January 27, 2026 | 10:15 PM
🎗️ HOSTAGES AND RETURN OF THE FALLEN: Following the return of Ran Goeili, may his memory be blessed, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “I believed we would bring everyone back through a combination of military and diplomatic efforts. I should have ignored the background noise and the pressures – both internal and external.” Netanyahu said parents of hostages asked him to swear he would bring them back, adding: “I swear.”
The Coordinator for Hostages and Missing Persons, Gal Hirsch, said 87 of the abductees were returned as fallen. “I remember each one of them, their names and faces, I love their families, and I am tormented and pained by the terrible suffering and loss.” Hirsch said hoarsely: “It was the hardest task of my life.” He said the Hostages and Missing Persons Headquarters is preparing to become a rehabilitation center for the hostages and their families.
⚔ GAZA, PHASE B, AND HAMAS: At the start of the transition to Phase B, Netanyahu said: “Total victory rests on three things — the return of all our hostages, the disarmament of Hamas, and the demilitarization of the Strip. Yesterday we completed the first.” He said Israel is now focusing on disarming Hamas, adding: “It will either happen the easy way—or the hard way. But in any case—it will happen.”
Netanyahu said Israel will not allow Turkish or Qatari soldiers into Gaza and will not permit the establishment of a Palestinian state in Gaza. He said Israel will maintain security control from the Jordan River to the sea, and that this applies to the Gaza Strip as well.
⚠️ IRAN AND DETERRENCE: Netanyahu said the Iranian axis is trying to grow stronger and warned: If Iran attacks Israel, “we will respond with a force it has not yet seen.” He added: “I don't want to tell President Trump what to do or not to do, but we are providing full “reports.””
🏛 BUDGET, ELECTIONS, AND CONSCRIPTION LAW: Netanyahu said the last thing Israel needs in the current situation is elections and expressed hope that everyone understands the national responsibility required. He said his aspiration and hope are that elections will be held on schedule.
Netanyahu said Israel is on the verge of completing passage of the Draft Law and hopes to pass both the budget and the Draft Law. He said it was difficult to pass it with the previous chair of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, adding: “I trusted him — and he wasn’t successful.”
Netanyahu said the draft-dodging law was from the Bennett-Lapid government and said the current proposal is a real conscription law.
▪️ LEGAL, INVESTIGATIONS, AND INQUIRY ISSUES: On Yonatan Ureich, Netanyahu said: “The judge said there’s nothing here! Yonatan Ureich didn’t say a single word to me about Qatar!” He said: “This is an endless witch hunt against the people around me. It’s all one big fake.”
On the issue of establishing an inquiry committee into the Simchat Torah massacre, Netanyahu said: “They are using this as a political tool.” He said: “I will be the first to appear before a true state commission of inquiry, one that will draw real lessons.” Asked whether he will now accept the conclusions of the Shamgar Committee, Netanyahu said: “I’m discussing it and want to think about it. There’s no point in deciding and then not carrying it out.”
Netanyahu said: “Tsahi Braverman is also one big fake. They do this to everyone, but in the end, nothing comes out of it. It's a horrible witch hunt — and it's a blow to democracy.”
🕊️ REGIONAL NORMALIZATION: On peace with Saudi Arabia, Netanyahu said anyone seeking normalization should not join or support entities that attack the State of Israel.
💣 AMMUNITION AND WAR READINESS: Netanyahu said Israel’s fighters fell because there was not enough ammunition, adding: “That changed when Trump took office.”
