🕑 January 16, 2026 | 1:30 PM
💥 Gaza Strip: In response to a blatant ceasefire violation earlier this week in western Rafah, where armed terrorists fired at IDF troops, the IDF struck several terrorists across the Gaza Strip yesterday. The strikes included commanders from the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations.
🎯 Southern Lebanon: Yesterday, the IDF struck and eliminated a Hezbollah terrorist involved in attempts to reestablish Hezbollah’s infrastructure in the Zawtar al-Sharqiyah area in southern Lebanon.
❌ Judea and Samaria: Yesterday, IDF soldiers operating adjacent to the Beitot villages identified two terrorists preparing to hurl Molotov cocktails toward a civilian road. The soldiers fired to remove the threat, identified a hit on one terrorist, and apprehended both suspects.
🔪 Kafr Malik Arrests: Overnight, forces operated in the area of Kafr Malik after terrorists hurled an explosive device and a Molotov cocktail toward a road where civilian vehicles were traveling. No injuries were reported. Three suspects involved in the incident were apprehended during searches and transferred to security forces for further questioning.

⚠️ ISRAEL AND ALLIES SIGNAL STEALTH-BASED POSTURE TOWARD IRAN AS U.S. NAVAL ASSETS SHIFT AND IRAN IMPOSES SEVERE INTERNAL SECURITY CONTROLS
🕑 January 16, 2026 | 2:00 PM
‼️ Operational posture toward Iran: It was confirmed that the operation is expected to rely heavily on stealth. It is described as an approach in which the direction and timing of any action against Iran would not be visible in advance.
🛡️ U.S. naval movement to the Mediterranean: The USS George Bush aircraft carrier and its carrier strike group, CVN-77, have departed for Europe and are en route to the Mediterranean.
🕵️ Senior Israeli security talks in the United States: The head of the Mossad, David Barnea, has arrived in the United States ahead of meetings with senior government officials. The talks are reported to focus on Iran.
🚨 Severe internal security measures across Iran: Reports from multiple Iranian cities describe a sharp escalation in security controls and an atmosphere resembling martial law following violent crackdowns and killings on Thursday and Friday. Since January 12, IRGC and Basij forces have set up checkpoints, restricted movement, and intensified inspections of vehicles and civilians. Residents in Borujen, Mashhad, and Khanmirza County report phone checks at checkpoints and the deployment of large military vans in city streets. In Isfahan, residents say conditions shift to a martial-law environment from 6:00 PM onward. Similar restrictions were reported in Torbat-e Jam, where movement is said to be limited to essential shopping, and in Sari, Mazandaran, where citizens describe comparable military pressure.
🗣️ Russia–Iran contact: The Kremlin reported in a separate update that President Vladimir Putin also held a conversation with the president of Iran.

♟️ TRUMP CALLS FOR LEADERSHIP CHANGE IN IRAN AFTER EXCHANGE OF HOSTILE STATEMENTS WITH SUPREME LEADER; TRUMP ANNOUNCES U.S. TARIFFS ON EUROPE, LINKING GREENLAND TO ARCTIC MISSILE DEFENSE AND GLOBAL SECURITY
🕑 January 17, 2026 | 11:00 PM
🗣️ President Donald Trump publicly called for an end to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s 37-year rule. In remarks to POLITICO, Trump said it is “time to look for new leadership in Iran.”
The comments followed a renewed public clash between Trump and Iran’s leadership. Trump said he made the statement after reviewing a series of hostile public posts from Khamenei, after previously praising Iran for canceling 800 executions, and said Iran then attacked him in response.
Trump directly blamed Khamenei for Iran’s current condition. He accused Khamenei of being responsible for the “complete destruction of his country,” marking one of Trump’s most explicit endorsements to date of leadership change in Tehran.
🧭 President Donald Trump announced new U.S. tariffs on multiple European countries, explicitly tying the measures to negotiations over Greenland and framing the issue as one of U.S. and global national security. The announcement cited Arctic positioning, missile-defense coverage, and strategic competition with China and Russia as the underlying drivers.
Trump linked Greenland to advanced missile-defense architecture, early-warning systems, and global coverage geometry. In U.S. defense planning, Arctic territory is presented as critical to radar reach, intercept angles, and detection timelines for long-range threats.
Israel is not directly involved in the tariffs or negotiations, but the strategic signal carries implications for allies. Israel operates closely with the United States within an integrated missile-defense ecosystem, including Arrow and other layered defense systems developed alongside U.S. doctrine. Shifts in how Washington prioritizes territory, alliance coordination, and global defense architecture can influence the broader defense environment in which Israel operates.
The move has raised concerns in Europe over alliance cohesion and NATO stability. For Israel, which relies on sustained U.S. strategic leadership and predictable coordination with Western partners amid threats from Iran and regional proxies, changes in U.S.–Europe relations and global security posture can matter beyond the immediate issue.

🎯 IDF AND SHIN BET ELIMINATE SENIOR HAMAS AND ISLAMIC JIHAD OPERATIVES IN GAZA AFTER CEASEFIRE VIOLATION, AS IDF ROTATES FORCES AND FOILS DRONE ARMS SMUGGLING INTO ISRAEL
🕑 January 17, 2026 | 11:30 PM
🎯 TARGETED STRIKES IN GAZA FOLLOWING CEASEFIRE VIOLATION
Earlier this week in western Rafah, armed terrorists fired at an armored IDF vehicle in a violation of the ceasefire agreement. In response, the IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) carried out targeted strikes across the Gaza Strip against Hamas and Islamic Jihad operatives.
Those eliminated included Muhammad Hamed Muhammad Khuli, commander of Hamas’ Central Camps Operations Department and a long-time leader involved in brigade preparations ahead of the October 7 massacre, who was also responsible for overseeing the 1995 Nahal Oz roadblock attack. Also eliminated were Ashraf Adnan Muhammad al-Khatib, commander of Islamic Jihad’s Rocket and Missile Array in the Central Camps area, and Saeed Khaled Ali Abd al-Rahman, head of sniping in Hamas’ Deir al-Balah Battalion within the Central Camps Brigade.
🎯 ADDITIONAL STRIKE TARGETED ATTEMPT TO REESTABLISH TERROR INFRASTRUCTURE: In a separate strike, the IDF eliminated two Hamas operatives who were attempting to reestablish terror infrastructure sites. The operations degraded Hamas’ ability to plan attacks and threaten IDF forces deployed in the area under the ceasefire agreement.
🪖 16TH BRIGADE COMPLETES MONTH-LONG MISSION IN NORTHERN GAZA: Troops from the IDF’s 16th Brigade, operating under the 252nd Division, completed their sixth combat rotation and a month-long mission east of the Yellow Line in northern Gaza and have concluded their operations in the area. The brigade will be replaced by troops from the 3rd Brigade.
During the mission, the 16th Brigade, in coordination with the Yahalom Unit, dismantled hundreds of terrorist infrastructure sites above and below ground, including weapons, tunnel shafts, and underground tunnel routes used by terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip. The forces also eliminated dozens of terrorists who posed an immediate threat.
⚠️ TWO DRONES SMUGGLING WEAPONS INTO ISRAEL THWARTED: IDF field observers and the Aerial Defense Array identified two drones that crossed from the west into Israeli territory in an attempt to smuggle weapons. IDF troops arrived in the area and thwarted the drones, which were carrying six M-16 rifles, and the weapons were transferred to the Israel Police for further processing.
❌ AL-MUGHAYYIR INCIDENT IN JUDEA AND SAMARIA FOLLOWING DELAYED REPORT: IDF soldiers were dispatched to the Al-Mughayyir area following a report received with a delay regarding terrorists who hurled stones toward Israelis, set tires on fire, and blocked access routes to the area. Upon arrival, dozens of terrorists were identified hurling stones, and one terrorist was identified running toward the soldiers while holding a rock, posing an imminent threat.
The soldiers fired warning shots into the air and then fired to eliminate the terrorist. Forces are continuing searches and establishing roadblocks in the Al-Mughayyir area to locate additional suspects involved in the incident.

🛡️ U.S. AND ISRAEL POSITION MILITARY ASSETS AND MAINTAIN HIGH READINESS AS DIPLOMACY STALLS AND PREPARATIONS ADVANCE FOR POTENTIAL STRIKES ON IRAN
🕑 January 18, 2026 | 9:00 PM
🔶 U.S.-IRAN NEGOTIATIONS AND MILITARY POSTURE: Intelligence sources say U.S. negotiations with Iran are not progressing well. Diplomacy is continuing while military preparations move forward. As of now, there is no indication of an imminent U.S. strike after plans were called off on January 14. Officials assess President Trump is likely to wait until required military assets are fully in place.
🕞PLANNED STRIKES AND DECISION TIMING: At the Pentagon on Wednesday, aides to senior leaders were prepared to stay late into the night in anticipation of U.S. strikes against Iran. At around 3:30 PM, they were told they could go home as normal. Officials told The Washington Post that the President will have another opportunity to sign off on strikes in the next two to three weeks, once U.S. military assets moving toward the region are fully positioned, helping address Israel’s concerns about its own protection. This also confirms that strikes were planned for January 14, as previously reported. On Wednesday, President Trump’s senior security advisers were confident he was close to ordering an attack on Iran.
🇮🇱 ISRAELI ASSESSMENTS AND COORDINATION WITH WASHINGTON: Israel sees a historic opportunity to change the regime in Iran and believes it is necessary to prepare thoroughly for a strike that could lead to the overthrow of the Islamic Republic. Israeli officials warn that a poorly prepared operation would harm U.S. and Israeli interests in the region. Prime Minister Netanyahu requested that an operation against Iran be postponed. Israeli estimates suggest the United States has not backed down from attacking Iran but is waiting for the right moment. Senior American officials told Israel’s Channel 12, “The attack [on Iran] will happen, it’s only a matter of time. The United States is preparing for action.” President Trump told Prime Minister Netanyahu that Israel must be prepared to pay the price for an Iranian response.
⚠️ U.S. FORCE POSTURE IN THE REGION
Estimates indicate the U.S. military buildup in the Middle East is expected to reach its peak within one week. The United States has begun redeploying offensive and defensive weapons to the region in case President Trump orders a strike on Iran.
‼️ IDF READINESS AND AIR DEFENSE PREPARATIONS: The IDF has decided to maintain heightened readiness. It is continuing preparations for a prolonged period of increased air defense posture.
♟️ KEY U.S. DEPLOYMENTS: The aircraft carrier strike group USS Abraham Lincoln is being deployed to the region, alongside additional air defense systems, fighter jets, and possibly submarines. Four U.S. Air Force C-17A cargo aircraft flew from Europe to Diego Garcia Air Base, a key U.S. facility in the Indian Ocean positioned strategically in relation to Iran.
♟️ ALLIED MOVEMENTS: British, French, and German forces have been observed deploying Eurofighter jets to RAF Akrotiri Air Base in Cyprus and to Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.
⚠️ ISRAELI ASSESSMENT: Israeli officials still believe the United States may strike Iran in the coming days.

⚠️ AIRSPACE WARNINGS, MILITARY ASSET MOVEMENTS, AND DEFENSE READINESS SIGNAL HEIGHTENED IRAN-RELATED TENSIONS ACROSS REGION
🕑 January 18, 2026 | 9:30 AM
✈️ AVIATION SAFETY AND FLIGHT DISRUPTIONS: The European Aviation Safety Agency has advised airlines to avoid operating in Iranian airspace due to heightened alert levels of Iran’s air defense forces and an increased risk of misidentification within Tehran’s flight information region.
Separately, the Lufthansa Group extended the cancellation of overnight flights to and from Israel through January 31, citing the tense regional security situation and concerns over potential escalation involving Iran.
⚠️ IRANIAN WARNING TO THE UNITED STATES: Iran’s Foreign Ministry rejected U.S. State Department claims that Tehran is preparing options to strike American bases, calling the allegations part of escalating tensions. “The U.S. State Department's allegations that we are preparing options to strike American bases are part of escalating tensions. Tehran will respond forcefully to any hostile action, and our forces are determined to maintain and develop their defensive capabilities.”
🛫 U.S. AND ALLIED BASE POSTURE ADJUSTMENTS: The United States and Saudi Arabia have evacuated non-essential aircraft from Prince Sultan Air Base in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia.
At Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, bombers and strategic aircraft have been withdrawn from the facility.
🇮🇱 ISRAELI AIR FORCE FORCE-BUILDING: Israel is set to receive three additional F-35I Adir stealth fighter jets at Nevatim Air Base today. The delivery will increase the Israeli Air Force’s F-35 fleet to 48 aircraft, as part of a long-term plan to expand the force to 75 jets.
⚖️ IRANIAN EXECUTIONS AND DIPLOMATIC MESSAGING: That posture changed when envoy Steve Witkoff told President Trump that Iran had canceled the executions of 800 people after receiving text messages from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqhchi. President Trump said, “The best decision Khamenei has made in his life was not to carry out the 800 planned executions.” Despite regime denials, reports now say Arfan Soltani, described as the first detained protester, was executed on January 13 as scheduled. Since then, authorities have reportedly blocked his family from visiting him and provided no information on his whereabouts, raising concerns the regime is concealing the execution to avoid international backlash.
❌ ARGENTINA DESIGNATES IRGC QUDS FORCE AS TERRORIST ORGANIZATION: Argentina has designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force as a terrorist organization. “The Quds Force is a division of the IRGC, specializing in training for carrying out terrorist attacks in other countries. The Argentine Republic was a victim of its operations in the 1990s through the attacks on the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires in 1992 and the AMIA Jewish community center in 1994,” according to the decree signed by Argentine President Javier Milei.

🛡️ U.S. POSITIONS F-15s IN JORDAN AS IRAN ISSUES WAR WARNING; ISRAEL SETS 2026 RESERVE COMPENSATION FRAMEWORK AMID SHARP GAZA POLICY CLASH AND BUDGET–DRAFT SHOWDOWN
🕑 January 18, 26 | 6:30 PM
♟️ U.S. MILITARY POSITIONING: Intelligence sources report that a total of 18 F-15 fighter jets are slated to be stationed in Jordan, with six already there. The aircraft being transferred to the Middle East briefly appeared on public flight-tracking platforms. Sources described the brief visibility as a psychological warfare maneuver.
⚠️ IRAN MESSAGE TO PRESIDENT TRUMP: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian delivered a direct message warning that any attack on Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei would be treated as all-out war. He said economic hardship in Iran is largely driven by what he described as longstanding hostility and sanctions imposed by the United States and its allies. He added that aggression against the Supreme Leader would be considered war against the Iranian nation.
🪖 ISRAEL RESERVE SERVICE COMPENSATION FRAMEWORK: The Ministerial Committee on Reserve Service, chaired by Defense Minister Israel Katz, approved the principles of a NIS 6.2 billion compensation and recognition framework for Israel’s reserve forces for 2026. The committee reviewed reserve activity and readiness over the past two years and examined implementation of four government decisions adopted since October 7. A formal government decision based on these principles is expected to be brought to the cabinet for approval in the coming week.
Under an agreement between the defense and finance ministers, reserve service in 2026 will average 40,000 reserve days per day—a one-third reduction compared to 2025—while existing benefits are preserved, with combat soldiers and commanders prioritized. For the first time, the IDF will introduce a differential model dividing reservists into six activity tiers, with benefits tied to the nature of service. Developed jointly by the Defense and Finance Ministries, the framework builds on government decisions since October 2023 totaling about NIS 20 billion and aims to sustain operational readiness while strengthening the economic, family, and mental resilience of reservists, with additional tailored support still under development.
❗️ POLITICAL CLASH OVER GAZA’S FUTURE: Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said: “The original sin is the Prime Minister’s unwillingness to take responsibility for Gaza — to establish a military administration there, encourage emigration and settlement, and thus ensure Israel’s security for many years to come. This refusal created the need for strange constructions to manage civilian life in Gaza that are neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority. But even under that assumption, there must be red lines: The countries that kept Hamas alive cannot be the ones to replace it. Those that support it and continue to host it even now will not be given a foothold in Gaza. Period. Our brave fighters did not risk their lives in a tremendous national mobilization just to swap one bad option for another.”
Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said: “Bringing Qatar and Turkey into the Gaza Strip is a reward for Hamas for the October 7 massacre and a danger to Israel’s security. The government of chaos has relinquished Israel’s sovereignty.”
⚖️ BUDGET, CONSCRIPTION, AND COALITION PRESSURE: Due to the position of the Knesset’s legal adviser, the Knesset will be required to vote this week on the state budget and the Arrangements Law in their first reading if it wishes to complete the budget’s passage by the end of March. The Cabinet Secretary told ministers that discussions on the conscription law will conclude in two weeks, and the government plans to tell the ultra-Orthodox that the military draft is approaching while asking them to support the budget and the Arrangements Law in the meantime. In the background, Degel HaTorah has warned Agudat Yisrael that if it fully opposes the draft, it will run separately. If the budget is not passed by March, the Knesset will dissolve and new elections will be held.

🛡️ IDF ENDS LEBANON BORDER INCIDENT AS ISRAEL AND U.S. REINFORCE AIR AND MISSILE DEFENSES AMID IRAN ATTACK SCENARIOS AND REPORTS OF IRANIAN AIR DEFENSE UPGRADES
🕑 January 18, 2026 | 11:45 PM
🪖 LEBANON BORDER INCIDENT ENDS: IDF troops were dispatched to the Lebanon border in the Western Galilee after a suspect was identified on the Lebanese side of the fence. The IDF said forces maintained continuous surveillance, while a tank and a helicopter opened fire in the area to “remove the threat.” The military said the incident ended after the suspect withdrew northward away from the border, and troops remained in contact with local Israeli authorities.
❗️ IRANIAN STATE BROADCASTER HACKED: Iranian state media, IRIB, was hacked and broadcasts were reportedly interrupted and replaced with footage of recent protests and a video message by Reza Pahlavi. Opposition channels said the breach lasted about 10 minutes and included speeches and protest videos.
⚠️ IDF REVIEWS RESPONSE SCENARIOS FOR POSSIBLE IRAN ATTACK: IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir discussed potential scenarios for an Israeli response to a possible Iranian attack at the Air Force headquarters.
🎯 ISRAEL AND U.S. REINFORCE AIR DEFENSE POSTURE: Boaz Levy, President of Israel Aerospace Industries: “There are enough Hetz [Arrow air defense] missiles to intercept Iranian missiles. Production of the Hetz has been running around the clock. Our interceptors are designed to destroy incoming missiles, 90 per cent were intercepted during the last clash [in June 2024, with Iran].” Israel is reinforcing its air defense posture amid rising concerns over a potential escalation with Iran, including the arrival of three additional Israeli F-35 “Adir” fighter jets at Nevatim Air Base.
The United States has begun deploying additional air-defense assets to Israel, supplementing systems already in place since late 2024. These include THAAD batteries, Patriot (PAC-3) systems, and U.S.-owned Iron Dome interceptors transferred to reinforce Israel’s stockpiles against rockets and UAVs. THAAD operates using a hit-to-kill mechanism and each battery is operated by roughly 100 U.S. troops, creating a direct American military presence on Israeli soil.
The U.S. systems are designed to complement, not replace, Israel’s Arrow-2 and Arrow-3 missile defense layers, allowing more efficient use of interceptor inventories. Some details are based on official reporting, while other indications are based on observations of U.S. heavy transport aircraft, including C-5 Galaxy planes, landing at Nevatim Air Base.
⚠️ REPORTS: IRAN RECEIVES ADVANCED AIR DEFENSE SYSTEMS: Reports say Iran has received additional advanced air-defense systems, including China’s HQ-9B surface-to-air missile system and Russia’s S-400, after Iran failed to defend its airspace during the so-called “Twelve-Day War.” Analysts assess this reinforcement would complicate any future strike aimed at Iranian leadership or strategic assets.
The HQ-9B is reported to have a 250–300 km operational range, a flight ceiling of around 50 km, speeds exceeding Mach 4, and a dedicated radar that guides missiles to their targets. Experts believe Iran’s ability to deter or challenge a potential U.S. attack has improved following the system’s arrival.

🛡️ IDF LAUNCHES MULTI-DAY COUNTERTERRORISM OPERATION IN HEBRON AS U.S. REASSESSES IRAN STRIKE TIMING AND REINFORCES REGIONAL MILITARY POSTURE
🕑 January 19, 2026 | 8:30 AM
❌ IDF OPERATION IN JUDEA AND SAMARIA: Overnight, Israeli security forces began a counterterrorism operation in the Jabal Johar area of Hebron focused on dismantling terror infrastructure, confiscating illegally held weapons, and strengthening security in the area.
The operation is expected to continue for several days. Explosions may be heard during the activity, and increased IDF troop movement is expected. Palestinian media reported road and traffic route blockages in southern Hebron beginning this morning.
🇺🇸 PRESIDENT TRUMP TRUTH SOCIAL POST: President Trump shared a post on his Truth Social platform quoting Marc Thiessen’s prediction that Trump would one day visit a “free Iran,” alongside a “free Havana” and a “free Caracas.”
The post was shared as a quote rather than a direct statement and did not reference imminent military action or specific operational steps.
♟️ U.S. DECISION ON IRAN STRIKE TIMING: According to American sources, President Trump’s decision to delay a strike on Iran was not related to interceptor shortages or concerns about a potential collapse of Israel’s air defense systems. Israel reportedly conveyed that the attack plan presented last week would not have brought about the regime’s downfall.
The United States is now re-engaging and, alongside military capabilities, is seeking to identify internal breaking points within the Iranian system.
🛩️ MILITARY AIRLIFT ACTIVITY IN THE REGION: Reports indicate that two additional C-17A transport aircraft departed from a UK Air Force base en route to an airbase in Jordan. This follows the arrival of 12 F-15E fighter aircraft in Jordan earlier yesterday.

🕑 January 19, 2026 | 12:30 PM
💥 SOUTHERN LEBANON STRIKES: In response to repeated violations of the ceasefire understandings, the IDF is striking Hezbollah terror targets in southern Lebanon. Targets included terror infrastructure across several areas, including military structures used for drills, training, and planning attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians.

🛡️ TRUMP SIGNALS LOWER U.S. RESTRAINT AS NETANYAHU ISSUES DIRECT WARNING TO IRAN, WITH WING OF ZION DEPARTURE REINFORCING DETERRENCE MESSAGING
🕑 January 19, 2026 | 6:00 PM
⚠️ PRIME MINISTER NETANYAHU ON IRAN: “If Iran makes a mistake and attacks us, we will act against Iran with forces it has not yet experienced.”
🇮🇱 PRIME MINISTERIAL AIRCRAFT MOVEMENT: According to Flightradar24, the prime ministerial aircraft “Wing of Zion” departed Nevatim Air Base in southern Israel and exited Israeli airspace. The plane later landed at BGN Airport.
⚠️ IRANIAN REGIME WARNING TO RIOT PARTICIPANTS: The Chief of Iran’s Law Enforcement Forces stated: “Those who participated in the riots but were deceived have 3 days to turn themselves in. They will receive a significant reduction in their sentence.”
♟️President Trump wrote to the Prime Minister of Norway that he no longer feels obligated to think solely about peace. In the letter, he wrote: “Considering that your country has decided not to award me the Nobel Peace Prize — I no longer feel obligated to think solely about peace. Although it will always be dominant, now I can think about what is good and right for the United States. The world is not safe as long as we do not have complete control over Greenland.”
The message is being interpreted as signaling fewer self-imposed restraints on U.S. behavior, with direct implications for Iran. Under this reading, Tehran would assume a lower threshold for coercive measures, reduced patience for prolonged diplomacy, and greater willingness to enforce red lines through force if necessary.
The framing shifts from “peace” as the organizing principle to deterrence through strength and unpredictability.
Given President Trump’s first-term record of sudden and unconventional actions, this tone increases strategic uncertainty for Iran.
The practical effect described is heightened pressure rather than immediate war. Iran would need to reassess its proxy activity, defensive posture, and nuclear calculations under the assumption that U.S. restraint can no longer be taken for granted.

❗️TRUMP PUSHES DAVOS SIGNING FOR “BOARD OF PEACE” AS EUROPE SIGNALS REFUSAL AND ISRAELI LEADERS PUBLICLY SPLIT OVER GAZA GOVERNANCE
🕑 January 19, 2026 | 6:45 PM
⚠️ Trump “Board of Peace” proposal: President Trump is reportedly pushing for a public signing ceremony at the World Economic Forum in Davos for his proposed “Board of Peace,” despite the framework’s mandate and authority remaining unclear.
Europe has questioned the initiative, Israel has expressed concern, and Kremlin-aligned figures have welcomed it, raising questions about governance, enforcement, and security guarantees. At this stage, it is being viewed less as a finalized peace mechanism and more as a strategic pressure test of who is willing to publicly sign on.
🚫 France signals refusal: A source at the Élysée Palace confirms to i24NEWS that President Macron is expected to decline President Trump’s proposal to participate in the Board of Peace.
French officials are expected to tell Washington that the council’s charter raises serious concerns about its compatibility with the principles and institutional framework of the United Nations.
❗️ Smotrich rejects Trump plan, outlines Gaza stance: At a ceremony marking the establishment of the “Yatziv” settlement in Gush Etzion, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said: “The time has come to explain to Trump that his plan is bad for the State of Israel and to cancel it. Gaza is ours, and therefore we are taking responsibility for what happens there, imposing military rule over it, and completing the mission.
The time has come to dismantle the headquarters in Kiryat Gat, to expel countries such as Egypt and Britain from there—countries that are hostile to Israel and undermine its security—to present Hamas with a very brief ultimatum for true disarmament and exile.
Immediately after it expires, to storm Gaza with full force, destroy Hamas militarily and civilly, open the Rafah crossing with or without Egyptian consent, and allow the residents of Gaza to leave and seek their future elsewhere, where they will not endanger the future of our children.
With God’s help, we will meet very soon at a similar ceremony in the Gaza Strip. I very much hope that it will be under the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that he will lead it, and that we will not need political upheavals along the way.”
⚖️ Netanyahu and Lapid trade claims over Gaza governance: Prime Minister Netanyahu said: “Phase B means one simple thing — Hamas will be disarmed and Gaza will be demilitarized, either the easy way or the hard way.”
He added: “Turkish and Qatari soldiers will not be in the Gaza Strip,” and said Israel has a disagreement with the Americans over the advisory council that will oversee processes in Gaza.
Opposition leader Yair Lapid said to Netanyahu: “President Trump published – right over your head – the composition of the ‘governing board’ for Gaza. The hosts of Hamas in Istanbul and Doha, Hamas’s ideological partners, have been invited to run Gaza.
Since that speech, President Trump has also published the composition of the technocratic committee meant to manage daily life in Gaza. I know you’re trying to blur this, but the dominant body in the committee is the Palestinian Authority.”

🛡️ IDF CHIEF OF STAFF UNDERSCORES HOME FRONT READINESS AND UNPRECEDENTED OFFENSIVE CAPABILITY AS ISIS DETENTION BREACHES IN SYRIA DRIVE REGIONAL MILITARY MOVES AND ISRAEL WARNS AGAINST GOLAN WITHDRAWAL OVER INFILTRATION RISKS
🕑 January 19, 2026 | 10:30 PM
⚠️ IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir visited the Home Front Command headquarters on Monday, emphasizing Israel’s preparedness to defend the civilian front.
He stated that Home Front Command forces are trained, alert, and ready to respond at all times to attacks and lifesaving scenarios, operating in close coordination with local authorities and emergency organizations.
Zamir stressed that Israel maintains full defensive readiness across all scenarios while holding powerful offensive options to deter and respond to aggression.
He said the IDF is prepared to employ unprecedented offensive capabilities against any attempt to harm the State of Israel and noted that lessons from Operation “Rising Lion,” including preparations for the possibility of a surprise war, have been fully implemented, alongside deeper integration with civilian and emergency frameworks to reinforce national resilience.
⬛ ISIS detention facilities compromised in northeast Syria: Reports from northeast Syria indicate breaches and escapes at ISIS detention facilities that were previously guarded by U.S.-backed Kurdish SDF forces amid clashes and shifting control on the ground. Major outlets confirm prisoner escapes, but claims that “3,000 ISIS fighters were released overnight” remain unverified, even as it is confirmed that these prisons hold thousands of ISIS detainees and that custody has been weakened or disrupted.
🇮🇱 Implications for Israel’s security environment: For Israel, this does not constitute an immediate ISIS threat, but it represents a strategic destabilizer tied to broader instability in eastern and northeastern Syria as authority shifts away from the SDF toward the Syrian regime. Such conditions historically benefit Iran and its proxies by enabling expanded movement and entrenchment under the cover of counter-ISIS activity, directly affecting Israel’s northern strategic environment.
The erosion of ISIS detention control is a proven mechanism for ISIS regeneration, allowing experienced operatives to re-enter Syria and Iraq and rebuild networks over time, even if Israel is not the primary target. Iraq’s border reinforcement underscores regional concern, while Israel is expected to increase intelligence monitoring of transit routes toward southern Syria, the Golan Heights, and Jordan, with attention to weapons smuggling, proxy repositioning, and potential Iranian exploitation of the situation.
⚠️ IDF officers are advising Israel’s political leadership not to withdraw from the Golan Heights, citing heightened security concerns along Israel’s northern and eastern borders.
The assessment is driven by fears of a potential mass infiltration of armed militants from Syria and Jordan, modeled on the Hamas attack of October 7. Senior officers note that the sense of failure following Hamas’s infiltration into the western Negev continues to influence current operational thinking.
From the military’s perspective, relinquishing territory along any hostile border is considered unacceptable in the foreseeable future, given the risk of coordinated cross-border attacks.

🛡️ USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN STEAMS TOWARD ARABIAN SEA AS U.S. SIGNALS IRAN DETERRENCE, MACRON FLOATS COORDINATION WITH PRESIDENT TRUMP, AND ISRAEL CONVEYS WILLINGNESS TO ABSORB IRANIAN MISSILE BARRAGE IF IT TRIGGERS REGIME COLLAPSE
🕑 January 20, 2026 | 8:30 AM
🚢 Carrier movement and positioning: The U.S. aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) has entered the Indian Ocean after transiting the Malacca Strait and is heading toward the Arabian Sea. This positions U.S. naval airpower within rapid reach of Iran and the wider Middle East while avoiding the strategic vulnerabilities of Persian Gulf chokepoints.
The movement is assessed as strategic deterrence, not a declaration of war. For Israel, it reinforces the U.S. regional backstop without changing Israel’s independent operational posture, while increasing deterrence against direct Iranian escalation.
The carrier presence supports enhanced maritime security, intelligence coverage, and rapid-response capability across multiple theaters. It also contributes to stabilizing key shipping routes whose disruption would carry economic and security implications for Israel.
⚠️ French President Emmanuel Macron told U.S. President Donald Trump, “We can do great things on Iran,” signaling openness to close coordination while keeping the message deliberately broad and non-committal.
In diplomatic terms, the phrasing points to potential alignment on Iran’s nuclear program and regional activity, including pressure, containment, or negotiated frameworks tied to Iran’s role in Syria and its support for regional proxies. The statement also signals that France does not want to be sidelined in any U.S.-led Iran initiative.
⚠️ Israel has informed the United: States that it assesses it could absorb even a worst-case Iranian barrage of roughly 700 ballistic missiles if it led to the collapse of the Islamic Republic.
Israeli leaders argue the cost would be “worth it,” pointing to the performance of Israel’s air and missile defense systems during the 2025 war.
