Tino Chrupalla, co-chair of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, calls for the withdrawal of US forces from Germany amid the war on Iran.

Chrupalla pointed out that Spain, which refused to take part in the war and closed its bases and airspace to the US, was allowed to have its ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz, saying Germany should follow Spain’s approach.

According to media reports, around 40,000 US troops are stationed in Germany, which allowed the US to use Ramstein Air Base in the war against Iran, making it one of Washington’s largest overseas deployments.

#BREAKING Trump ‘would be quite interested' in calling Gulf allies to help pay for costs of Iran war, White House suggests
Iran's FM spokesman on Saudi Arabia:

- Our ambassador there is active and communications and contacts continue. We have clearly expressed our concerns and considerations.

- The responsibility of Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region is very clear. According to international law and the principle of good neighborliness, countries are not allowed to allow their facilities and territories to be used by aggressor parties against another country in any way. This action authorizes the attacked country to take defensive measures for itself.

- It's by no means desirable for the Islamic Republic of Iran to be forced to carry out its defensive operations on the soil of regional countries.
Spain’s Sanchez calls Israeli death penalty law 'step towards apartheid'

Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez described Monday’s approval by the Israeli parliament of a law that would impose penalties for Palestinians as a “step towards apartheid.”

"It is an asymmetrical measure that would not apply to Israelis committing the same crimes. Same crime, different punishment. It's another step towards apartheid. The world cannot stay silent," Sanchez wrote on X on Tuesday.
Iraqi fuel convoy enters Syria, reopening key transit route

DAMASCUS, April 1 (Xinhua) -- The first convoy of Iraqi fuel tankers entered Syria on Wednesday through the al-Tanf-al-Waleed border crossing, reopening a key transit route after more than a decade of disruption.

The Syrian Petroleum Company said that the convoy consists of 299 tankers carrying refined fuel destined for the Baniyas refinery on Syria's Mediterranean coast, where it will be processed and prepared for export.

The shipments will be unloaded into storage facilities before being transferred to the Baniyas oil terminal for loading onto maritime tankers, the company added.

"This step reflects Syria's renewed role as a vital regional energy transit hub and strengthens its position in the regional energy security equation," the company said in a statement.

Safwan Sheikh Ahmad, director of corporate communications at the Syrian Petroleum Company, told state news agency SANA that the convoy is expected to arrive at its destination later Wednesday, adding that the fuel flow will contribute to economic activity through transit revenues.

The convoy's arrival follows the reopening of the border crossing with Iraq a day earlier, after it had been closed since 2015 when the Islamic State group seized large swaths of territory along the Syria-Iraq border. ■

Syrian protesters gathered outside the UAE embassy in Damascus to express unwavering solidarity with Palestine, vehemently opposing the newly approved Israeli law permitting the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners alongside the ongoing closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

A Reuters reporter saw dozens of protesters gathering outside the UAE's embassy in Damascus at midday on Friday, including some chanting "the Zionist embassy".

Demonstrations have taken place across Syria since the Israeli parliament passed a law making death by hanging a default sentence for Palestinians convicted in military courts of deadly attacks.
