This is funny of Sinn Féin in their manifesto. They recognise that demographic change in the North over the past 20 years has led to a change in the political views of the populace when it comes to the question of Irish Unity (No Problem there).

So they accept demographics is destiny - the more people in a democracy of a certain culture/background the more likely the people of that culture/background will vote in favour of their self interest. Why then can’t Sinn Féin apply this to the larger demographic shift happening in Ireland to where the Irish people will be a minority in their home country by 2050 if current trends continue?

Surely they understand that as demographics change, the political/social views of the populace change to shift toward the dominate and majority forming culture as they outlined in their manifesto when it comes to the Irish Unity question up North but they just can’t see (or do and don’t want to acknowledge) the demographic shift ongoing due to mass migration and its effects.

Sinn Féin: Demographic change with the increase in the Irish Catholic population and decrease in the Unionist/Protestant population has led to the population more willing to accept Irish reunification as Unionist culture and political influence becomes less significant due to becoming a minority group overtime via demographic change


Also Sinn Féin: Nah importing 1 million Africans via Ireland 2040 to an island of 5 million in 20 years with a birth rate of 1.6 and falling will be fine it won’t cause any political / societal / cultural changes don’t be racist
