Five months before Jan 6, congress defended the right to protest—outraged at police for attacking protestors during the 2020 Lafayette Square Riots.

Why were Trump protestors viciously attacked OUTSIDE the US Capitol from 1pm on?

The right to protest INSIDE the Capitol has been continuously affirmed by the establishment in previous years.
Trump supporters on J6, following this precedent, faced violence and death.

The question is why?

“Obstruction of an Official Proceeding” is a 2002 post-Enron law signed by GW Bush. At signing, he noted that “the law should not infringe the constitutional right to petition the government for redress of grievances”

The DOJ is using trumped up charges to extort guilty pleas from defendants.
