' My name is Johanna O’Tigham and I work with survivors of severity, complexly-disabled folks, and other human beings existing on the edge.
I’ve personally been able to share resources and offer sanctuary to handfuls of individuals over the past decade.
I also work with Intuitive Public Radio and Intuitive Invisibles, inc. on both local and international survivor-led recovery and infrastructure projects.
The need is great, and institutional supports aren’t able to provide appropriate and effective solutions for these folks.
I’m interested to connect with other people who are doing this work (formally or informally), and also with other related projects and resources.
I have have formed a nonprofit organization to formalize my work and be able to do more for these communities.
Yellow Rocket Ministries is a survivor-led (nondenominational) faith-based nonprofit organization that exists to bridge with and fill resource gaps for survivors.

"I was looking at people who had gone through a difficult period and ended up in this circumstance where they're locked up in a psychiatric hospital being treated against their will...
...and interviewed them about that process and talked to psychiatrists, talked to nurses, talked to other people involved in families and so on.
I was looking at it entirely as a fascination, almost, with how we define madness as a society and how we treat it, just purely on that level.
And I saw a lot of themes there that interested me as a writer and as a thinker, a person, around what it means to be human.
I had no idea of what I was rapidly to discover, to learn over the next few years about this real scope of the mental health system and these laws in our society."
"Everyone that I've interviewed in these areas, the attorneys — no matter where they are — they affirm this:
That the laws routinely get broken, the processes are unpredictable.
One person can have a totally okay experience, another person can be completely traumatized."
